A mass shooting isn’t surprising given the mainstreaming of political violence by Democrat extremists

Doug Ross @ Journal

It’s shocking, but not altogether surprising, that a mass-shooting occurred during a Republican Congressional sports outing. Senator Rand Paul, who observed the volley of 50 or 60 shots, said that a “massacre” had been narrowly averted.

If House Majority Whip Steve Scalise’s security detail hadn’t been present, Paul said, it would have been a slaughter.

“I do believe that without the Capitol Hill police, it would have been a massacre,” he said. “We had no defense at all.”

This attempted mass shooting isn’t surprising given the mainstreaming of political violence by Democrat extremists:

• There’s the rhetoric from “academia“:

“They should be lined up and shot,” Professor John Griffin posted to his Facebook, according to a screenshot of the post obtained by Campus Reform, even clarifying that he wasn’t being hyperbolic, saying “that’s not hyperbole; blood is on their hands.”

• There’s the theater:

• There’s Hollywood:

• There’s the fascist group laughably called “Antifa”:

• There’s the media:

Senior Newsweek writer Kurt Eichenwald wants innocent people to suffer and die in order to prove a point.

Eichenwald said on Twitter Friday night that he hopes every Republican who voted in favor of the American Health Care Act on Thursday sees a family member come down with a serious “long term” illness and lose their insurance before dying. When challenged, Eichenwald doubled down. “I want them to be tortured,” he said of Republicans who supported the AHCA. He added: “I want the [Republicans] who supported this to feel the pain in their own families.”

• There’s the world’s most famous community organizer, Barack Obama:

“If they bring a knife to the fight, we bring a gun,” Obama told the audience. “Because from what I understand folks in Philly like a good brawl. I’ve seen Eagles fans.”

…At another campaign stop on September 18, 2008, Obama advocated that his supporters “argue with [people], get in their faces”:

…[and d]uring the town hall meeting protests of the summer of 2009, Senior White House adviser David Axelrod and deputy chief of staff Jim Messina told Democrat Senators, “If you get hit, we will punch back twice as hard.”

• There’s social media:

It turns out the shooter was a “Bernie Bro.”

The leaders of the Democrat Party need to speak out against this violent rhetoric. If they fail to do so, it speaks volumes about how radical and anti-American the party has become.

Amid Efforts to Impeach, Trump is Winning for America

By: Lloyd Marcus

Vice President Mike Pence said nothing touches and encourages himself and president Trump more than hearing Americans say they are praying for them. Folks, given president Trump’s superhuman focus on winning for America while enduring unprecedented vitriolic attacks from all sides, I’d say our prayers are working.

After months on the road working to elect conservatives in special elections, I’m back home. I ran into my favorite bank teller, a middle-aged Hispanic woman. “Oh Mr Marcus, it is so good to see you.” Folks, I was taken aback as she began expressing her extremely heartfelt thanks for my working to elect Trump and the work I do around the country. Frankly, I was stunned by how much Trump winning meant to her. Fake news media will never understand the phenomenal connection Trump has with a majority of the American people. They (We the People) get it. They know Obama was destroying our country. They know Trump is committed to bringing us back from the edge of destruction and they are extremely excited and grateful. None of fake news media’s 24/7 attempts to politically assassinate Trump is working — quite the opposite.

Who could have imagined that Trump’s Washington DC inexperience would be one of his greatest strengths. Trump governs free of pro-politician political correctness. A gifted businessman, Trump is instinctively using his talent; making deals good for America while getting us out of deals bad for America. Case in point, Trump pulled us out of the disastrous Paris climate deal. http://bit.ly/2rAdUyu

Meanwhile, Washington DC establishment elites are outraged, “That’s not how we do things in this town. Trump can’t say that! Trump can’t do that! How dare Trump speak directly to the American people via tweets!”

I’ve heard talking heads supposedly on our side say they wish Trump would conform more to traditional presidential behavior. I say Trump is doing just fine being 100% Trump. He has made remarkable positive changes in 100 days that would have taken other Republicans 10 years. Whenever Republicans win elections they are advised to move slowly and be careful not to anger Leftists too much to avoid fake news media backlash.

America’s number one radio personality, Rush Limbaugh said, “If what you do relies on talent, you will never be your best doing it someone else’s way.” Based on his proven talent, I trust Trump to govern his way as long as he functions according to our Constitution. I could not care less that Washington insiders view him as a bull in their Washington DC china store. Break more stuff Mr President. Please break more stuff.

Leftists worldwide are so obsessed with removing Trump from office and blocking his agenda, they appear to have suspended interest in all else.

The Left was brutally tough on Sarah Palin; everything out of her mouth was spun to brand her an idiot. Compared to how the Left is relentlessly going after Trump, Palin was treated with kid gloves.

Though under reported we are winning in unprecedented ways under president Trump.

Trump appointing Betsy DeVos as Secretary of Education was huge for America, a serious blow to Leftists’ government indoctrination of our kids. Though high-tech bludgeoned by Leftists, DeVos strongly advocates restoring parent’s rights. http://bit.ly/2rdCyFU

Along with the confirmation of conservative Neil Gorsuch on the Supreme Court, Trump just nominated 11 new conservative federal judges. http://bit.ly/2rBuNsc These are awesome selections with long term positive effects.

Trump has rolled back a ton of Obama’s overreaching stupid job-killing and economy-dragging regulations. http://fxn.ws/2nevpyv

Keeping his campaign promises and rolling back Obama’s mess, Trump has signed a remarkable list of executive orders. http://nbcnews.to/2pevDeb

During his Infrastructure speech at the Department of Transportation, Trump expressed his desire to cut absurd regulations. Trump said, “It is time at last to put America first. No longer can we allow these rules and regulations to tie down our economy, chain up our prosperity and sap our great American spirit.” http://bit.ly/2r6EA6N Wow, now that’s what I am talkin’ about folks — ignore fake news media’s lies. We are winning under Trump. We are winning.

Displaying arrogant wickedness, Democrats are boldly lying to the American people, falsely accusing Trump of high crimes and misdemeanors. They have taken their first legislative steps to remove Trump from office by drafting articles of impeachment. http://bit.ly/2s4DsED

Leftist law professor Marjorie Cohn absurdly said Trump pulling us out of the Paris climate deal is an impeachable offense. These people on the left are deranged. Still, they must be taken seriously and blocked. If allowed, Democrats and fake news media will impeach our president based totally on lies. http://bit.ly/2s9sJby

I am confident we who love America will remain firmly entrenched in our support for our president. Thanks to God and Trump’s talent, we are winning.

Fed Announcement At 2:00 PM

By: Kent Engelke | Capitol Securities

It is widely expected the FOMC will increase interest rates by 0.25%, the second increase of the year. It is also anticipated “guidance” will suggest another 0.25% increase is forthcoming by year end.

I am certain there will be stories that monetary policy is tightening, that such increases are not warranted in today’s environment. I do not ascribe to this view.

I believe monetary conditions are still extremely “loose” given that excess bank reserves are gargantuan. Moreover, until the Fed drains these reserves from the system or until the central bank lifts the rates over the rate banks are able to lend these funds, conditions will remain “loose.”

Regarding inflation, year over year CPI is 2.0%. Excluding food and energy, the CPI is up 1.9%. This is up from 1.0% for the year ended May 2016. Generally speaking, the overnight rate is around the inflation rate.

Additionally, wage inflation is also accelerating at either end of the spectrum. There are a number of states mandating an increase in minimum wage. On the other end of the scale, there is considerable wage inflation in the STEM and trade industries.

About a month ago, I put forward a possible scenario that August 2017 could be the inverse of August 2008. The Federal Reserve shifted direction radically two weeks following a Fed meeting and uncharacteristically lowered the discount rate in a rare intermeeting move, stating risks on the downside vastly dwarfs risks on the upside.

Can the inverse occur in August 2017? If monetary velocity or the turnover of money accelerates sharply, the inverse can occur.

The announcement and post meeting statement will occur around 2:00 pm.

Last night the foreign markets were up. London was up 0.53%, Paris was up 0.71% and Frankfurt was up 0.96%. China was down 0.73%, Japan was down 0.08% and Hang Sang was up 0.09%.

The Dow should open steady ahead of the Fed. The 10-year is up 1/32 to yield 2.20%.

The FBI’s Pathetic Track Record on Terrorism

By: Cliff Kincaid | Accuracy in Media

Former FBI Director James Comey has finally admitted publicly that President Donald Trump has not been under investigation, after months of deliberately leaving the impression that he was. Now the issue becomes whether Trump somehow obstructed justice in trying to save one of his subordinates, a decorated military veteran who ran the Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA), from a frivolous prosecution.

Trump had fired Lt. Gen. Michael T. Flynn (Ret.), who supported him during the campaign, but couldn’t stand to see this patriot raked over the coals by the press and the Democrats for some confusing statements he made about his own Russian contacts during the period when he was preparing the new Trump administration’s foreign policy. Trump was loyal to a friend and supporter. For that, according to Comey, Trump is now in the crosshairs of Special Counsel Robert Mueller.

The media agenda has to be exposed and challenged. The issue is not Trump but the FBI, whose two former directors are now tag-teaming Trump for the purpose of destroying him. They have been presented by the liberal media as beyond reproach when their own work at the FBI was disastrous and should be the subject of investigations and hearings by congressional intelligence committees.

In short, Congress is investigating the wrong thing.

Consider the special counsel, Robert Mueller, who gives commencement speeches about honor and integrity. This is a guy who met secretly with Islamist groups and sanitized FBI training materials so that FBI agents could not recognize and identify the enemy trying to kill us. The Judicial Watch report, “U.S. Government Purges of Law Enforcement Training Material Deemed ‘Offensive’ to Muslims,” should have disqualified Mueller from ever again serving in any role as an investigator of anything remotely connected to national security.

Christopher Farrell of Judicial Watch calls it a “curious” story about how “a group of radical Islamists” with links to terrorist groups like Hamas met with Mueller, and convinced him to “scrub” and change FBI training materials on radical Islam. Mueller assembled a secret group of Islamic “experts” who read the materials and censored them. These people became the “editors” of the training materials.

One of the changes, incredibly enough, involved eliminating a reference to the Islamic Koran as the “teaching of the Prophets” and replacing it with “the revealed word of God.” A reference to the Muslim Brotherhood as a terrorist organization was also deemed offensive.

To make matters worse, all of this censorship occurred after Mueller’s investigation into the post 9/11 anthrax attacks was totally mishandled. Al Qaeda carried out the attacks, in conjunction with the actual 9/11 terrorist hijackings, but Mueller and his people blamed a series of American scientists. Finally, they found one they could blame, Bruce Ivins, who committed suicide following persecution by FBI agents. Ivins was dead and could not defend himself.

The anthrax letters, which carried statements of “Death to America” and “Death to Israel,” were assumed to be the work of right-wingers working for U.S. government military or civilian labs. One of Mueller’s agents, Richard Lambert, later sued Mueller for botching the probe.

Comey would take over for Mueller, obviously aware of the major deficiencies in the anthrax inquiry, but did not reopen the investigation to seek the truth about al-Qaeda’s role in the attacks.

The flawed anthrax investigation was an example of the politically twisted investigative methodology that Mueller would officially implement, under pressure from Islamist groups such as the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), in regard to Islamic terrorism in general.

As Farrell told me in an interview, Mueller has a reputation as an effective law enforcement official, but the evidence shows that he permitted political manipulation of FBI training materials regarding the Islamic threat and “completely bungled” the anthrax investigation.

Regarding Mueller and Comey, Mueller’s successor as FBI director, Farrell says there is “an appearance of a deep, long professional relationship, if not a personal one.” When Mueller was FBI director, Comey was deputy attorney general. Both of them had said American scientist Steven J. Hatfill was guilty in the anthrax case though he was completely innocent. The Department of Justice eventually had to pay Hatfill over $5 million in damages after ruining his career.

Farrell said the fact that Comey cleared his Senate Intelligence Committee testimony with Special Counsel Mueller suggests they have been “synchronizing the effort.” He adds, “It stinks.” Under these circumstances, it is impossible to believe that Mueller will conclude that Comey mishandled the Russian investigation and deserved to be fired by Trump. Instead, they both have enormous incentive to find Trump guilty of something. Together, they cannot permit FBI misdeeds to be exposed to public view.

Some commentators are now recognizing this as a witch hunt. Seizing on Comey’s admission that he leaked a document about his meeting with Trump to spark the appointment of Mueller, Joel B. Pollak of Breitbart writes about “a deliberate political setup” against Trump. Newt Gingrich writes that Comey’s admission of leaking for the purpose of getting a special counsel investigation of the President “is tremendously important because it completely delegitimizes Robert Mueller’s so-called independent investigation and reveals it as poisoned fruit.”

The former Republican House Speaker says, “…what we have here is a fired FBI director, who leaked private material to the press, so he could get his friend appointed as a special counsel in order to take retribution on the President—with the aid of a department full of federal lawyers who would have rather seen Hillary in the White House. And we are supposed to believe this will be an objective, unbiased investigation?”

Only Trump can save himself now. He can fire Mueller after offering the evidence of this setup and citing evidence of Mueller’s terrible track record in investigating Islamic terrorism.  He has the evidence to show that Mueller has a conflict of interest through his friendship with Comey and cannot be trusted to arrive at the truth.

Trump would take a beating from the press, but it’s the right thing to do.
