Mitch McConnell Scorches Dems And Accuses Them Of ‘Cold Feet’, Threatens To Cancel The Senate Impeachment Trial

By: Terresa Monroe-Hamilton

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell is pissed and rightfully so. Swamp Mistress Nancy Pelosi is now withholding the Articles of Impeachment passed in the House yesterday from the Senate. She says she will withhold them until a ‘fair’ trial is assured. The only fair trial the Dems want is a confirmed impeachment of a duly elected president who has done nothing wrong. It’s a coup and she knows it. To let the Articles of Impeachment move to the Senate where Trump would surely be acquitted would undo everything these Marxists have worked for and nullify their #ShamImpeachment. The only one by the way that got this right was Rush Limbaugh.

There is now open warfare between the leadership of the two chambers over impeachment. McConnell tore into Nancy Pelosi for “shoddy work” and said Democrats may be “too afraid” to send the articles to the Senate after the House speaker abruptly held off on transmitting them. Nice to see Mitch has a backbone after all.

“This particular House of Representatives has let its partisan rage at this particular president create a toxic new precedent that will echo well into the future,” McConnell said on the floor, accusing Democrats of giving in to “temptation” with their impeachment vote while challenging their handling of the articles in the aftermath.

“Looks like the prosecutors are getting cold feet,” the Senate GOP leader mused.

Pelosi should be slapped with obstruction of justice charges over this. The move is blatantly unconstitutional and they don’t care. McConnell decried the effort, for which no Republicans voted, as “the most rushed, least thorough, and most unfair impeachment inquiry in modern history.” And he’s right. There was no due process and no facts or evidence of any wrongdoing presented to prove that the president did anything wrong here. This bolsters long-standing complaints by Republicans that the impeachment has trampled over minority rights in the House, and that Democrats were pursuing an outcome they have preordained before Trump was even sworn into office.

I want you to read the meat of the post from Fox News over this — if it does not make your blood boil you are not paying attention (emphasis mine):

“After McConnell spoke, Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer shot back by dismissing the Republican claim that the impeachment was purely partisan as only Democrats voted for it.

“Forgive me, House Democrats cannot be held responsible for the cravenness of the House Republican Caucus and their blind fealty to the president,” he said.

“After an impeachment in the House, the articles are normally sent over to the upper chamber for an impeachment trial. Yet in the latest twist, Pelosi has indicated that she may not send over articles of impeachment yet — until she gets reassurances about the Senate process. (A personal note: that’s called extortion.)

“We’ll make a decision… as we go along,” Pelosi told reporters Wednesday, adding that “we’ll see what the process will be on the Senate side.”

“We have acted,” Pelosi continued, repeatedly refusing to commit to sending the articles of impeachment to the Senate. “Now, they’ll understand what their responsibilities are, and we’ll see what that is.”

“Pelosi insisted that Republicans would need to run a fair trial if the matter made its way to the Senate, without explaining what exactly she was seeking.

“Pelosi sought to clarify in a press conference Thursday morning that her side is just waiting to see what the process will be in the Senate, so they can choose their “managers” for a trial who would essentially serve as prosecutors.

“House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jerry Nadler, D-N.Y., insisted, in separate remarks, that Democrats are “not playing games” with impeachment and the articles will be transmitted.

“Pelosi, though, made clear that she did not intend to name the managers until they understand the “arena” in the Senate. And she fired back at McConnell, suggesting he’s a “rogue leader.” (That’s a laughable accusation if I ever heard one.)

“While the move could be a way of trying to draw some concessions from McConnell, it also stirred speculation that it could be a play to stop a potentially damaging Senate trial altogether, in which the Republican-dominated chamber could call witnesses such as former Vice President Joe Biden, his son Hunter, and House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff, D-Calif.

“Such a scenario, however unlikely, would also leave Trump with an awkward status quo in which he is impeached, but cannot claim exoneration in a Senate trial — where he would be widely expected to win acquittal. However, it also risks dragging impeachment out deep into 2020, just as some polls indicate the public is souring on the process.

“McConnell accused Pelosi of suggesting “that House Democrats may be too afraid … to even transmit their shoddy work product to the Senate.”

“Calling the development “comical,” he said Democrats who stressed the urgency of the process now seem “content to sit on their hands.”

“Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., was even more fiery, alleging on Twitter, “If House Dems refuse to send Articles of Impeachment to the Senate for trial it would be a breathtaking violation of the Constitution, an act of political cowardice, and fundamentally unfair to President @realdonaldTrump.”

“Yet, as Pelosi voices concern about a fair trial, McConnell made clear that he wants the Senate to acquit, as a statement against the impeachment articles he decries as constitutionally ungrounded.

“If the Senate blesses this historically low bar, we will invite the impeachment of every future president,” he said Thursday.

“McConnell is expected to meet with Schumer but any delay in the House could lead to McConnell refusing to meet with Schumer, giving the excuse that there are no articles for them yet to discuss since they have not been transmitted. Schumer, in his remarks, asked whether McConnell would choose not to call any witnesses for the Senate trial, alluding to speculation that Senate Republicans may move to dismiss the case against Trump immediately.

“Will Leader McConnell, breaking precedent, strongarm his caucus into making this the first Senate impeachment trial of a president in history that heard no — no — witnesses?” Schumer said.

“Trump, meanwhile, attacked the “do nothing Democrats” for wanting to “do nothing” with the impeachment articles.

“I got Impeached last night without one Republican vote being cast with the Do Nothing Dems on their continuation of the greatest Witch Hunt in American history,” he tweeted. “Now the Do Nothing Party want to Do Nothing with the Articles & not deliver them to the Senate, but it’s Senate’s call!”

“In his remarks, McConnell said that the Senate’s duty is to rise to the occasion on matters as grave as impeachment and to give the nation some stability.

“The framers built the Senate to provide stability … to keep partisan passions from literally boiling over,” he said. “The Senate exists for moments like this.”’

Speaking on the floor of the Senate Thursday morning, McConnell threatened to cancel the Senate trial altogether if Democrats refuse to hand over the Articles of Impeachment, as is required by the rules outlining the impeachment process. Good for him and that would really make a statement.

McConnell also mocked Pelosi over the idea that, somehow, the president will suffer if Democrats delay the Senate trial, and offered to take the heat from Pelosi’s Democratic base for refusing to get the trial moving quickly. “It’s beyond me how the Speaker and Democratic Leader in the Senate think withholding the articles of impeachment and not sending them over gives them leverage,” McConnell said. “Frankly, I’m not anxious to have the trial. If she thinks her case is so weak she doesn’t want to send it over, throw me into that briar patch.”

McConnell opened by stating, “Last night House Democrats finally did what they had decided to do a long time ago; they voted to impeach President Trump. Over the last 12 weeks, House Democrats have conducted the most rushed, least thorough, and most unfair impeachment inquiry in modern history. Now their slapdash process has concluded in the first purely partisan presidential impeachment since the wake of the Civil War. The opposition to impeachment was bipartisan; only one part of one faction wanted this outcome.”

He continued:

“Back in June, Speaker Pelosi promised the House would build an “iron-clad case.” Never mind that she was basically promising impeachment months before the Ukraine events, but that’s a separate matter. She promised an iron-clad case. And in March, Speaker Pelosi said this: “impeachment is so divisive to the country that unless there is something so compelling and overwhelming and bipartisan, I don’t think we should go down that path because it divides the country. By the Speaker’s own standards, the standards she set, she’s failed the country. The case is not compelling, not overwhelming, and as a result, not bipartisan. The failure was made clear to everyone earlier this week when Senator Schumer began searching for ways the Senate could step out of our proper role and try to fix the House Democrats’ failures for them. And it was made even more clear last night when Speaker Pelosi suggested that Democrats may be too afraid, too afraid to even transmit their shoddy work product to the Senate.”

McConnell has offered one way out to Schumer and Pelosi. Instead of relitigating the Senate trial process, he says he’ll simply reinstate the rules Democrats drafted in 1998, ahead of President Bill Clinton’s impeachment trial, which resulted in a partisan acquittal.

“In 1999, all 100 senators agreed on a simple pre-trial resolution that set up a briefing, opening arguments, senators’ questions, and a vote on a motion to dismiss,” McConnell added in his remarks. “Senators reserved all other questions, such as witnesses, until the trial was underway. That was the unanimous bipartisan precedent from 1999. Put first things first, lay the bipartisan groundwork, and leave mid-trial questions to the middle of the trial.”

“If 100 senators thought this approach was good enough for President Clinton,” McConnell added, “it ought to be good enough for President Trump.” Damn, that was well said.

From The Daily Caller and Mark Levin:

“Conservative radio host Mark Levin said Thursday that Republican Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell should immediately nullify impeachment.

“Levin spoke out in a Thursday Facebook post after the U.S. House of Representatives voted to impeach President Donald Trump Wednesday night. Levin discussed House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s “brazen unconstitutional act” of “unilaterally sitting on the impeachment” and laid out a plan for McConnell to immediately nullify impeachment.

“Here’s what Mitch McConnell and the Senate Republicans must do in response,” Levin wrote. “The Senate has the sole power under the Constitution to adjudicate an impeachment. Therefore, Pelosi is attempting to obstruct the Senate’s power to act on its constitutional authority.”

“McConnell should immediately put an end to this and declare the impeachment null and void as the speaker has failed to complete the impeachment process by timely sending it to the Senate for adjudication,” Levin added.

“The conservative radio host said that McConnell has “no less authority” to do this than Pelosi has to keep administrative notification of impeachment from the Senate.

“Her effort to cripple the presidency and blackmail the Senate must be defeated,” Levin wrote.”

And from Breitbart:

“On Thursday’s broadcast of CNN’s “New Day,” House Majority Whip James Clyburn (D-SC) stated that he is willing to delay transmitting the House’s impeachment articles to the Senate for “As long as it takes” to get concessions on how the trial will be conducted, and that if he were in charge, he would potentially never transmit the articles.

“Clyburn said he is willing to hold the articles “As long as it takes. Even if — if he doesn’t come around to committing to a fair trial, keep those articles here. So, keep it as long as it takes.”

“Co-host John Berman then asked, “Are you suggesting it’s possible you will never transmit the articles of impeachment?”

“Clyburn responded, “If it were me, yes, that’s what I’m saying. I have no idea what the speaker will do.”’

The radical Democrats are treating the U.S. Constitution as an afterthought and are using impeachment as a political weapon in a way that was never intended by our Founding Fathers. In fact, it was feared by them.

Every one of these leftists should be removed from office. Not only is this unconstitutional, it’s treasonous and Americans have had enough.

Trump Eviscerates Pelosi For ‘Praying’ For Him In Scathing Letter Over Impeachment: ‘More Due Process’ In ‘Salem Witch Trials’

By: Terresa Monroe-Hamilton

President Trump just sent a scathing 6-page letter to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) that eviscerates her over the partisan impeachment proceedings. It also rips the leading Democrat for claiming she is “praying” for the president. It’s about time someone nailed her for that. Just saying. Trump urged Pelosi to put a stop to impeachment, claiming Democrats were acting upon an “unprecedented and unconstitutional abuse of power.” Trump also said that those accused in the Salem witch trials were afforded “more due process” than he was. Everything he said is true and I don’t blame him one bit for saying it either.

“You are the ones interfering in America’s elections. You are the ones subverting America’s democracy. You are the ones obstructing justice,” Trump wrote.

“This is nothing more than an illegal, partisan attempted coup that will, based on recent sentiment, badly fail at the voting both,” the letter said. “You are not just after me, as president, you are after the entire Republican Party. History will judge you harshly as you proceed with this impeachment charade.”

“I have no doubt the American people will hold you and the Democrats fully responsible in the upcoming 2020 election. They will not soon forgive your perversion of justice and abuse of power,” the president continued.

Getty Images

President Trump rightfully accuses Pelosi and the Democrats of violating their oaths of office by pursuing this unfounded impeachment. The letter calls the Democrats’ actions “spiteful” and lists how it was Vice President Biden and not him that urged a quid pro quo between the United States and Ukraine. “Now you are trying to impeach me by falsely accusing me of doing what Joe Biden has admitted he actually did.”

The president argued that the impeachment process was “an unprecedented and unconstitutional abuse of power” from Democrats, criticizing the Articles of Impeachment for failing to match the Constitutional standard of high crimes and misdemeanors.

“You have cheapened the importance of the very ugly word, impeachment!” Trump wrote.

More from The Daily Wire:

“Trump also hit Pelosi personally in the letter, telling the House Speaker she is disrespecting people of faith every time she says she’s “praying” for him.

“You are offending Americans of faith when you say, ‘I pray for the president,’ when you know this statement is not true, unless it is meant in a negative sense,” he said. “It is a terrible thing you are doing, but you will have to live with it, not I!”

“The president backed his assertion that the impeachment proceedings are partisan with Democrats’ own words, echoing GOP digital ads released in the last month or so. Here are some of the notable remarks from Democrats, via The Daily Wire:

“Socialist Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (NY): “This is about preventing a potentially disastrous outcome from occurring next year.”

“Dina Titus (NV): “I’d like to impeach the bastard right now.”

“Adam Schiff (CA): “That charlatan in the White House.”

“Nancy Pelosi (CA): “An imposter,” and “We cannot accept a second term for Donald Trump.”

“Maxine Waters (CA): “He really should be punished,” and “ I am not running for anything except the impeachment of Trump.”

“Rashida Tlaib (MI): “We’re gonna impeach the mother**ker.”

“Al Green (TX): “If we don’t impeach this president, he will get reelected.”

“The Democrats have been moving forward with the impeachment process, despite polling suggesting the move will hurt them politically. A Monmouth poll released last Tuesday, for example, showed only good news for President Trump.

“The president, fighting off the Democrats’ hyper-partisan efforts to impeach him, received a seven-point swing in his favor concerning the 2020 election. Trump also cleaned up with Independents, polling double-digits higher than any of the Democratic presidential candidates looking to take him out in 2020,” The Daily Wire reported.

“As noted by The Hill, “The letter came on the eve of the House vote on two Articles of Impeachment against Trump for alleged abuse of power and obstruction of Congress. The Democratic-controlled lower chamber is widely expected to approve the articles along party lines.”’

President Trump is spot-on when he says this is an “election-nullification scheme.” The House will vote on the Articles of Impeachment tomorrow. We all know that it will pass because of the Democrat majority. But it will not pass in the Senate and Mitch McConnell has as much said so.

I look for McConnell to acquit the president and be done with this madness. He’s already told Chuck Schumer to get stuffed over calling his four witnesses. During Bill Clinton’s impeachment, he called the move to call witnesses ‘political theater’ but now he’s had a change of heart. What a hypocrite… the entire Democrat Party is nothing but a Marxist, lying pit of vipers anymore.

I especially like this part of the letter:

“Everyone, you included, knows what is really happening,” Trump said, just a day before House Democrats were expected to vote to impeach him. “Your chosen candidate lost the election in 2016, in an Electoral College landslide (306-227), and you and your party have never recovered from this defeat. So you have spent three straight years attempting to overturn the will of the American people and nullify their votes. You view democracy as your enemy!”

Setting up a potentially explosive evening of television, the president is scheduled to hold a massive rally at the Kellogg Arena in downtown Battle Creek, MI, Wednesday night — just as the House is expected to vote to impeach him. Trump really knows how to draw an audience. It will be a packed house, no doubt about it.

Talk about telling it like it is for a change. President Trump will have the last laugh over this as he is reelected in a landslide. I can’t wait. Oh, and we’ll be praying for you Nancy… not.

Schumer Claimed Clinton Impeachment Witness Testimony Was Political ‘Theater,’ Now He Wants Four Witnesses In Trump Trial

By: Terresa Monroe-Hamilton

In my book, Senate Democratic Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) is one of the most evil, vile, and dangerous men in the Senate. His reputation is intact as he is calling for several current and former Trump administration officials to be subpoenaed to testify in the chamber’s proposed impeachment trial for President Trump. This is the same man who stood against witnesses testifying during former President Bill Clinton’s impeachment trial in 1999. Hypocritical much?

During Clinton’s impeachment, Schumer said that having witnesses testify amounted to “political theater.” “It seems to me that no good case has been made for witnesses,” Schumer said during a press conference on Jan. 27, 1999. Just days later he said, “I wonder if the House managers aren’t a little more interested in political theater than in actually getting to the bottom of the facts.” But now that it is the Republicans coming under fire… well, he’s good with witnesses now.

From Fox News:

“As with virtually everybody involved in the Clinton-era impeachment on both sides of the aisle, the roles and talking points have reversed now that Trump is facing impeachment for his dealings with Ukraine. Republicans who cheered Clinton’s impeachment have condemned Trump’s. And Democrats like Schumer are sudden champions of the process.

“On Sunday, the powerful New York Democrat penned a letter to Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., outlining the parameters for a weeks-long impeachment trial in the Senate, including proposed witnesses.

“In the trial of President Clinton, the House Managers were permitted to call witnesses, and it is clear that the Senate should hear testimony of witnesses in this trial as well,” Schumer said.

“I propose, pursuant to our rules, that the Chief Justice on behalf of the Senate issue subpoenas for testimony by the following witnesses with direct knowledge of Administration decisions regarding the delay in security assistance funds to the government of Ukraine and the requests for certain investigations to be announced by the government of Ukraine: Robert Blair, Senior Advisor to the Acting White House Chief of Staff; Mick Mulvaney, Acting White House Chief of Staff; John Bolton, former National Security Advisor; and Michael Duffey, Associate Director for National Security, Office of Management and Budget.”

“He noted all four of those witnesses were asked to testify in the House impeachment inquiry but did not appear.

“We would of course be open to hearing the testimony of additional witnesses having direct knowledge of the Administration’s decisions regarding the delay in security assistance funds to the government of Ukraine and the requests for certain investigations to be announced by the government of Ukraine, if the President’s counsel or House Managers identify such witnesses,” he continued, adding that the witness testimony time should “be limited to not more than four hours” for House Managers and “not more than four hours for the President’s counsel.”

“But Republicans in the Senate have signaled their interest in calling different witnesses — like Hunter Biden and former Democratic National Committee consultant Alexandra Chalupa, both of whom Republicans in the House tried to call only to be blocked by House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff.

“At the center of the impeachment inquiry is Trump’s efforts to press Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to launch politically related investigations—regarding former Vice President Joe Biden and his son Hunter’s dealings in Ukraine, as well as issues related to the 2016 presidential election. The president’s request came after millions in U.S. military aid to Ukraine had been frozen, which Democrats have argued shows a “quid pro quo” arrangement. Trump has denied any wrongdoing.

“The House Judiciary Committee on Friday voted to adopt two articles of impeachment against Trump, alleging abuse of power and obstruction of Congress, on a party-line vote of 23-17. A final roll call in the full House is expected this week.

“A massive impeachment report issued overnight by Judiciary Committee Chairman Jerry Nadler, D-N.Y., stated: “This continued solicitation of foreign interference in a U.S. election, as well as President Trump’s other actions, present a clear and present danger that the President will continue to use the power of his office for his personal political gain.”‘

The kangaroo court that has played out in the House is one thing… the Republican-held Senate is quite another. Should witnesses be called, there will be actual due process there and witnesses from both sides would be summoned. All of this is probably a moot point as I expect McConnell to call for acquittal without a lengthy trial with witnesses.

Should the witnesses that Schumer mentions be called, he’s probably not going to like the results of their testimony. It will almost assuredly all be in support of President Trump. Why? Because he did nothing wrong or illegal, much less prosecutable or impeachable. The same cannot be said if Joe and Hunter Biden are called to testify. Both will take the 5th but their dirty laundry will certainly be aired for Americans to parse and review.

Either way, this leads to a second term for President Trump and it’s exactly what the Democrats have earned here. Their actions since the beginning have been unconstitutional, illegal, treasonous and frankly evil. Make no mistake, Nadler and Schiff are buffoons as well as evil, but Schumer is a canny shark and very dangerous politically. Regardless, Trump has done nothing wrong here and Schumer will only cement Mitch McConnell’s inclination to acquit.

Nadler Calls For President Trump’s Removal From Office In Committee’s 658-Page Sham Report On Articles Of Impeachment

By: Terresa Monroe-Hamilton

Rep. Jerrold Nadler, the laughable and communist Chairman of the House Judiciary Committee, wrote that President Trump is a threat to the Constitution and should be removed from office, according to the committee’s 658-page report on the articles of impeachment resolution against Trump. The Democrats hate and fear Trump so much that they are going all-in on this sham impeachment to stop him from being reelected. There is not a candidate in their dugout for the 2020 election that has a chance in hell of beating Trump and they know it.

Nadler is simply adding fuel to the fire here. The left’s witch hunt against Trump has energized his base and unified the Republican Party in a way that could not have been previously imagined. You’ve got thousands showing up at Trump rallies when Uncle Joe Biden has trouble rousing a dozen people to show up and listen to his gaffes, watch his bizarre behavior and tolerate his senile rants. It’s just embarrassing for the Democrats and it will only get worse from here on out.

The report itself did not include any new allegations or any actual crimes. Instead, the Dems are claiming that Trump abused his office by soliciting the interference of Ukraine in the 2020 election and then obstructed the impeachment inquiry into his conduct. The transcript of Trump’s phone call proves just the opposite and the Ukrainian president himself denies any of these false allegations. Trump has not obstructed the impeachment inquiry into his conduct… quite the opposite. He has bent over backward to be transparent in all of this. The report is simply a regurgitation of the committee’s closing arguments for impeaching the president. They want him gone because they hate Trump, what he stands for and what he has accomplished. They want a soft coup but Americans won’t stand for it.

“This continued solicitation of foreign interference in a U.S. election, as well as President Trump’s other actions, present a clear and present danger that the president will continue to use the power of his office for his personal political gain,” the report states. Do you know who actually solicited interference in the election? Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama. They are once again accusing Trump of what they are guilty of. In my book, both Clinton and Obama are guilty of treason themselves.

From Fox News:

“The report was released at 12:30 a.m. ET., and included a dissent from the committee’s minority that called the case for impeachment “not only weak but dangerously lowers the bar for future impeachments.”

“Trump is accused, in the first article, of abusing his presidential power by asking Ukraine to investigate his 2020 rival Joe Biden while holding military aid as leverage, and, in the second, of obstructing Congress by blocking the House’s efforts to probe his actions.

“The president insists he did nothing wrong and blasts the Democrats’ effort daily as a sham and harmful to America.

“Nadler wrote that Trump should be removed and “disqualification to hold and enjoy any office of honor, trust, or profit under the United States.”

“No Republicans have so far signaled that they will support the articles of impeachment, but a small handful of Democrats who represent GOP-leaning districts have said they may join Republicans in voting against them.

“The minority, headed by Rep. Doug Collins, R-Ga., the ranking member of the committee, wrote that the majority decided to “pursue impeachment first and build a case second.”

“The majority ignored exculpatory evidence but proclaimed the “facts are uncontested,” the minority wrote.

“The facts are contested, and, in many areas, the majority’s claims are directly contradicted by the evidence,” the Republicans wrote. They continued that “not one of the criminal accusations leveled at the president over the past year—including bribery, extortion, collusion/conspiracy with foreign enemies, or obstruction of justice—has found a place in the articles. Some of these arguments are just holdovers from an earlier disingenuous attempt by the majority to weaponized the Russia collusion investigation for political gain.”

“The Republicans also claimed procedural missteps by the majority by not allowing a “minority day of hearings,” despite several requests to Nadler. They called the denial “blatant” and “intentional.” They claim Nadler also refused a request to subpoena witnesses. They wrote that there was a complete absence of “fact witnesses” and the case rested with the testimony from four academics and another with a panel of Congressional staffers.

“The House is expected to vote on the articles next week, in the days before Christmas. That would send the impeachment effort to the Senate for a 2020 trial.”

For Trump to actually be impeached, it would have to clear the Republican-held Senate. That’s never going to happen. For him to never hold office again would require a separate vote from Congress. Don’t believe the lies you are hearing from the left. They would love for it to be true that the House voting for articles of impeachment means that Trump has actually been impeached and that he cannot run for the presidency again, but it’s simply not true.

There are three ways this could go now. Here is the deal in the Senate:

1. The senate could (and probably will) immediately vote to acquit President Trump and there will be no testimony from any witnesses. This would end the national 3-year nightmare and will ensure Trump’s reelection to a second term.

2. We could go through a full trial with Justice Roberts presiding and have a boatload of witnesses. This was President Trump’s preferred option but probably will not occur.

3. We could vote to acquit and hold a hearing after the first of the year on all scandals and include witnesses. This is the option I prefer, but again, McConnell is most likely simply going to push for an end to this through acquittal. This option would expose the dirt on the Bidens in Ukraine and drag Clinton and Obama into the mix as well but the Republicans probably will want this over with sooner than later for the good of the nation.

In their report, Democratic lawmakers contend that President Trump committed “multiple federal crimes” worth at least 20 years in prison. That is so outrageous it is just laughable.

According to Politico, in the 169-page report, Democrats allege that Trump committed the criminal acts of bribery and wire fraud, which are addressed under the remarkably vague first article of impeachment, “abuse of power.” The latter crime, they note, carries a 20-year prison sentence. But again, this is not included in the actual articles of impeachment because it simply did not happen and they can’t prove it.

These people have changed the charges against Trump over and over and over again. Now, this. It’s moronic in the extreme.

It’s so bad that Congressman Jeff Van Drew of New Jersey is now switching from the Dems to the Republicans because he’s so disgusted by this whole spectacle. And many Democrats feel that way too. They’re sickened by this evil charade as most of America is.

The report goes on… “Although President Trump’s actions need not rise to the level of a criminal violation to justify impeachment, his conduct here was criminal,” Democrats on the committee argue.

“The Framers were not fools. They authorized impeachment for a reason, and that reason would have been gutted if impeachment were limited to crimes,” they continue, specifically justifying their decision to not name specific crimes in the articles of impeachment.

Trump’s behavior, they add, “betrayed the people of this nation” and was indeed “both constitutional and criminal in character.”

Via TheBlaze:

“In the 18-page dissent, Republicans, led by Rep. Doug Collins (R-Ga.) slam the Democrats’ articles of impeachment as “vague,” “hyperbolic” and “misleading,” Politico reports.

“Republicans also slammed Democrats for not offering any articles of impeachment that allege specific crimes.

“While individual articles of impeachment have been passed against prior presidents that do not allege criminality, no president has been impeached solely on non-criminal accusations,” Collins writes.”

“Since filing articles of impeachment last Tuesday, Democrats on the House Judiciary Committee have been sharply criticized for not naming specific crimes, failing to match the constitutional standard of “high crimes and misdemeanors.”

“Instead, after months of public criminal accusation, Democrats decided to file two vague articles of impeachment — abuse of power and obstruction of Congress.

“The “abuse of power” article, they have maintained, constitutes the highest crime and can include specific crimes such as bribery, but that argument has not been particularly convincing to Republicans.

“Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) later struggled to answer why “bribery” is missing from impeachment articles.

“Where is the crime? That’s what we’ve been asking the whole time,” House Judiciary member Rep. Mike Johnson (R-La.) said, according to Roll Call. “I think it’s an indication that they’ve committed political malpractice.”‘

Exactly. All their credibility is gone over this and frankly, all of them should be removed from office after this kind of totalitarian behavior has come to light.

The House is expected to conduct a floor vote on the articles of impeachment Wednesday. I think we all know how that will go. On to the Senate then… and we’ll battle it out on the 2020 political playing field. Trump already has this won, so brace yourselves with popcorn and snacks for the leftist tears to come.

Book Review: The Hermit King

By: Terresa Monroe-Hamilton

Purchase on Amazon

Recently, I received a copy of “The Hermit King: The Dangerous Game Of Kim Jong Un” by Chung Min Lee. I found it to be a fascinating read.

From the beginning, I have appreciated President Trump’s efforts to tame this rogue regime. I have had little faith, in the end, he would do so. I still consider the regime to be a puppet for communist China with a power-hungry madman at the helm.

The Kim Dynasty is the world’s longest-running family dictatorship and has had an iron grip on North Korea since it was founded in 1948. Many believe that the country stands at a historical crossroads. But for a gulag-tainted hellhole, that is basically one monstrous prison and mafia state, I don’t see them making a wise choice here. Wiley yes, wise no. Kim Jung Un is a megalomaniac who fancies himself to be a god.

The Kim family has ruthlessly silenced dissidents and has ruled mercilessly by holding its neighbors hostage with nuclear weapons. To actually change North Korea, Kim Jong Un has to dismantle North Korea’s totalitarian system. He will never willingly do that as his status as a living god will inexorably weaken.

In “The Hermit King,” Asian geopolitical expert Chung Min Lee relates the story of the rise of the Kim Dynasty and its atrocities, motivations, and diplomatic goals. He also discusses the possible outcomes of its aggressive standoff with world superpowers. It’s a tantalizing look into a dictator’s mindset. Kim Jung Un is brilliant in many ways and very, very dangerous. The world should not and dare not underestimate him.

He has been groomed since birth to take control of his country and stay in power at all costs. Kim Jung Un now stands at a fateful crossroads. Will he make good on decades of threats, liberalize North Korea and gain international legitimacy, or watch his regime possibly crumble around him? Lee analyzes the likelihood and consequences of each of these possibilities, cautioning that in the end, Kim won’t be able to maintain totalitarian control.

The Hermit King is a thoughtful and compelling look at the world’s most dangerous and complicated military-political problem. My belief is that eventually there will be another world war and North Korea will, of course, align with the communist Chinese in a bid for power across the globe. I believe that as Lee states that in the end Kim Jung Un will not be able to maintain control, but he will be replaced by Xi of China who will be even more ruthless and deadly at this game. I still believe that diplomacy with North Korea is a fool’s errand but we will see in the end how this plays out.

No matter what you believe about North Korea, this book is an incredible read and I would highly recommend it. For many years I have been immersed in geopolitics and this is yet another window into a communist regime and the evil we fight. By: Terresa Monroe-Hamilton

Garry’s birthday is today. We are thankful for all of you and you have made this birthday especially memorable for my husband and for myself.

We are still downsizing but the new place is great and we are quite happy here.

Garry likes the oncologist he has now who is Indian. We’ve now had one American doctor, one from Australia, one from Lebanon, one from Vietnam and one from India.

He has to get a ton of labs done. Then they want to cut back on the chemo. They prefer he goes with oral chemo as opposed to a pump. The doctor says that to run full tilt at it will wreck Garry’s body and cause neuropathy which it has. His feet are numb all the time. He says that if they go full bore all the time if something resurfaces the chemo won’t work. Makes sense.

In three months Garry will have a CAT scan and a PET scan to make sure the lung tumor is gone and the rectal tumor is dead. This doc says that the surgery to remove the rectal tumor may not be the way to go. It does not improve things and is a monstrous surgery that is dangerous and would put him down for two months or longer. It also has a high failure rate.

All of that sounds good and right to me, the only thing that gave me pause is he will not call this curative as the Tulsa docs did because it is stage IV and has metastasized. But Garry can go into full remission and will just have to be checked frequently to make sure it does not come back.

Right now he feels good and is doing well. On his birthday that is more than he asked for and a real blessing.

If you want to help Garry out, you can give at GoFundMe. You can donate here. You can also donate on PayPal. My email there is [email protected] or you can use the PayPal link on the upper right side of NoisyRoom.net to get there. If you would like to donate some other way, email me at [email protected] and I’ll send you instructions.

We have been up to Lake Tahoe to go on short walks and take pictures and just enjoy the beautiful surroundings. In Washoe Valley and in Genoa on any given day we can see hundreds of deer. Wild horses roam the countryside here. The people are friendly and amazing.

Living in a place you love truly puts all things in perspective. To get where we are now we had to just turn it all over to God and that’s what we are still doing and will continue doing. We’ve lost so much but have gained so much in return. Thank you to each and every one of you!!!

Update On My Husband’s Cancer Treatment – 10/16/19 – Settling In

By: Terresa Monroe-Hamilton

Well, we made it to Reno and now we begin the long task of unpacking and settling in. It feels great to be home and Garry loves being back here.

Garry has seen his new general practitioner who says he is doing pretty well considering. We are still waiting on the records to be transferred from Tulsa. We signed a release before we left but it still got tangled in red tape. Garry cannot start chemo again until the records are here. The oncologists in Tulsa swear they should be here by tomorrow, we will see. We have a team of oncologists here just waiting to get started.

Garry had a bit of a relapse on the trip. It was hard on him but he’s now beginning to bounce back since I have him on supplements again. We will also need to get him a PET scan to see if the cyberknife procedure took care of the lung tumor. Then we wait a few months and have the final surgery. Garry will need to stay on chemo until then to keep the cancer at bay.

I am positive there will be a full recovery here but this has taken its toll on my husband. He’s aged quite a bit during all this and it breaks my heart. But he will be with me for a long time and we feel blessed.

The trip was even more expensive than we thought and we still have mounting medical bills.

I can’t explain it but we feel much freer being back in Reno. We can see the mountains and deer again. The air and water are clean as well. Things aren’t perfect… that applies anywhere you go. But this is home for us and we practically kissed the ground once we got here. Thank you to all of you who have helped financially and who keep us in your prayers. We could not do this without you and you have literally helped save my husband’s life.

Update On My Husband’s Cancer Treatment – 09/15/19 – Going Home

By: Terresa Monroe-Hamilton

Last week, Garry had his first cyberknife procedure. He will have another on Tuesday and the last on Thursday. So far, there are no side effects at all and we expect this will eradicate the lung tumor entirely. Tomorrow, Garry starts his last chemo treatment here in Oklahoma. He will see a new general practitioner in Reno on Oct. 11th and then get referred out to the oncologists, radiologist, gastroenterologists, and the surgeon. In 4 to 7 months he will have the final surgery to remove the rectal tumor and he will be down for 2 months after that. But it is curative… and Lord willing that will end this nightmare except for visiting the doctor on a regular basis.

The week after this one we will be traveling home to Reno, Nevada with our oldest daughter and her husband. We have most things packed but loading and cleaning will be difficult. The drive will take us 4 or 5 days due to health, etc. It’s a 1,200-mile trip. Say a quiet prayer that it will be uneventful for us.

Garry is doing very well and is much his old self. His cancer markers are now down to less than 1 — the doctors are saying it is a miracle and I believe them. All of you have been a blessing to both of us as well — you are our miracle.

The final trip will be expensive and we still have mounting medical bills.

We are so thankful to finally be heading home. In Reno, we will take over my son’s townhome. Once again, all of our children have been there for us and we love them to pieces.

Thank you to each and every one of you who have given in one way or another or who have said a prayer for us. We can never repay you except with our love and respect. I will update again after the move.

Update On My Husband’s Cancer Treatment – 08/12/19 – Moving Forward

By: Terresa Monroe-Hamilton

The last week or so has been a monumental shift for us in our fight for Garry’s life. For those of you new to his cancer updates, my husband was diagnosed last December with Stage IV colorectal cancer. We have been through a very rough series of radiation treatments, chemo, blood transfusions, and Garry almost passing away because of pain and deterioration.

Then his surgeon performed a colostomy and saved his life. Garry is just about his old self these days and his numbers are surprising the doctors even with on-going chemotherapy.

We were unable to get a definitive diagnosis from the doctors though on whether this was really curable or if he would be on chemo the rest of his life. I cornered the oncologist who said he did not think Garry was a candidate for cyberknife radiation to remove the tumor in his lung. That meant the surgeon would never remove the colorectal tumor and Garry would be on ongoing chemo indefinitely. But the doc did say Garry would live many more years that way.

That was until we got a new radiologist. Our old one got breast cancer, so now Dr. Mrackian enters the picture. He’s from Australia. He asked us questions we had never been asked before and compiled a complete timeline of Garry’s case. He was angry it had taken so long to do the colostomy and that this had not progressed faster. He also said Garry was a slam-dunk for cyberknife radiation. That changed everything because it now means this is curative… not just maintenance.

We told the doc we were on a tight deadline as we are moving back to Reno, NV at the end of September. He immediately got us appointments to get this going and done before we go. He also told us the colorectal tumor could be removed in four to seven months depending on a PET scan. When that surgery occurs, Garry will be down for two months.

With all we have been through and the medical costs decimating us, we feel blessed. My husband will beat this, we will be together and take over my son’s townhome in Reno. It’s amazing how good news can lift a weight from your heart and soul the way it did this week. And we are finally going home.

If you want to help Garry out, one of our daughters put up a GoFundMe page and we have already met our goal but it is being extended for additional costs – she increased it by six grand to help with final medical expenses and moving. You can donate here. You can also donate on PayPal. My email there is [email protected] or you can use the PayPal link on the upper right side of NoisyRoom.net to get there. If you would like to donate some other way, email me at [email protected] and I’ll send you instructions.

Ted Cruz Swarmed At LAX By Pro-Illegal Immigrant Leftists Screaming “Free The Children!”

By: Terresa Monroe-Hamilton

Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) can’t even catch a flight in peace these days because of leftist whack-jobs. Ever the gentleman, Cruz was accosted at Los Angeles International Airport this last weekend for being a strong supporter of legal immigration. Pro-illegal immigrants protesters swarmed Cruz once he was recognized at the terminal. That’s California for you – it’s more Mexico than the US these days.

The group Voto Latino tweeted out a video of the group chanting: “Free the children!” at Cruz. According to the tweet, Cruz supports locking illegal aliens in cages along the southern border. Especially children. That’s an utter lie and they know it.

“Those in positions of power must be held accountable for the treatment of children and families at the border. #CloseTheCamps,” the group tweeted.
