Ancient Historians on Jesus Christ: World’s Most Elaborate Conspiracy Theory, or… Not?

By: Arlen Williams | Gulag Bound

God born into the flesh of man; died to pay the price of sin, for those who believe in and yield their lives to him; resurrected to overcome that separation from God above; and ascended back to Heaven till he returns — true or false? That is the crux of it, pardon the Passion season pun.

It has been said the life of Jesus, from a small town in the middle of the world called Nazareth, is the most well documented of ancient history. We have more historical detail and validation of his biography than, for example, Julius Caesar, Alexander the Great, or Genghis Khan.

Further, he is the subject of the most extensive study of any human, ever since. And the most “extreme” view of him is actually the shared eyewitness view of his followers and the contemporaries they convinced, now generation upon generation. They corroborate his own attestations with courtroom consistency.

Beyond that, in the most mutually corroborative accounts, the Bible’s four Gospels (i.e., “Good News” in Ancient Greek) he is shown to have fulfilled Old Testament prophecies spread over hundreds, even thousands of years. Many of these were regarded as confounding mysteries… until he solved them by bringing them to pass. That is, if one believes all the documentation is not an astoundingly vast and intricate work of conspiracy concocted right under the noses of Jesus’ contemporary skeptics and powerful opposers.

Yet beyond this, one of the often cited proof points of Christian apologists is the historic accounting of so many people so consistently willing to die for sake of this story, their confession. And these were renown for seeking to uphold the morality and ethics taught in the Bible, martyrs including those original eyewitnesses, Jesus’ disciples and chroniclers.

Must all this testimony be further corroborated by less interested historians of approximately that time, to dare be believed? J. Warner Wallace has briefly summarized just such accounts in a single article, “Is there Any Evidence for Jesus Outside the Bible?” His site is called Cold Case Christianity.

Wallace suggests the decision of what to believe about Jesus is not unlike the same kind of evaluation concerning two much more recent happenings.

Two well documented historical events with a rich set of evidences. In spite of this, both events have been interpreted in a variety of ways. It shouldn’t surprise us then to find the historical records of Jesus Christ might also experience the same type of scrutiny and diverse interpretation. Did Jesus truly live, minister, died and rise from the grave as the Gospels record or was it an elaborate conspiracy? One thing we know about the Kennedy assassination and the World Trade Center attack: regardless of interpretation, there were eyewitnesses to the events, and the events did truly occur. In a similar manner, the ancient evidence related to Jesus reveals there were eyewitnesses and He did exist in history. Is there any evidence for Jesus outside the Bible? Yes, and the ancient non-Christian interpretations (and critical commentaries) of the Gospel accounts serve to strengthen the core claims of the New Testament.

He refers to historians, Thallus (52AD), Tacitus (56-120AD), Mara Bar-Serapion (70AD), Phlegon (80-140AD), Pliny the Younger (61-113AD), Suetonius (69-140AD), Lucian of Samosata: (115-200 A.D.), and Celsus (175AD). He also cites the Talmudic references of Medieval Jewish writings. Not all were kindly disposed to Jesus of Nazareth being the Bible’s Messiah.

What does Wallace conclude? I will let you look into that at will, but my careful suggestion as a Jesus Truther, don’t take too long.

“Why don’t you judge for yourselves what is right?” – Jesus, Luke 12:57.

Open Letter To President-elect Donald Trump

By: Ashraf Ramelah | Voice of the Copts

Dear President-elect Donald Trump

My name is Ashraf Ramelah and I am an Egyptian-born Coptic Christian. I am the founder and president of Voice of the Copts, a non-profit human rights organization. Egyptian Copts, who are the largest Christian minority in the Middle East, are praying for your continued success. So are the Iraqi and Syrian Christians.

I want to congratulate you on your tremendous victory. You gained the hope and faith of the American people and the whole world because of your capacity to express your deep understanding of the current crisis and offer real solutions. We believe as well that your election is the result of our many prayers and the hand of our Lord to bring about His plan.

Your promise to make America great again not only gives hope to Americans, but to all those around the world living in fear of religious supremacy.

Many Egyptian Muslims along with Egypt’s Christians look forward to a time for Egypt when creed will no longer determine inequalities in regard to personal freedom, law and taxation as well as eligibility for elected office and military service.

The modern-day complexities of my ancient country and its geo-political position in the world must no longer force Christians to bear the brunt. This injustice has already been inflamed by America’s foreign policy intervention under the current administration. So much so that Copts had nearly lost faith in the republic that represents liberty and justice for the world from which we have always drawn our strength.

Currently, Egyptian public opinion holds to the notion that America’s administration acted in ways to revive Muslim Brotherhood aggression, raising societal tensions with disastrous results for Coptic Christians. Blood was shed by Egyptian freedom-fighters to oust Mohammed Morsi, the puppet-president of Hillary Clinton’s State Department, during the two years following the Mubarak overthrow.

This month, the Botrossia Church in Cairo was bombed by terrorists during a worship service. The majority killed were women and children. Since the Morsi ousting, 87 Coptic churches were destroyed by arson and bombs, and the majority of them remains in ruins today due to an Islamic decree forbidding the reconstruction of churches.

Egypt is guilty of human rights violations. As Copts are victims of jihad and relegated to second-class citizens in our own country, we are encouraged by your willingness and courage to identify and address radical Islamic terrorism. Your urgent message against terrorism in America and around the world gives Coptic Christians hope in your next steps to reverse the tide of events for all peace-loving communities throughout the world.

Respectfully,

Dott. Architetto Ashraf Ramelah

Pope Francis: “…it is the communists who think like Christians”

By: Renee Nal | New Zeal

Pope Francis climbs the steps to the altar upon arriving to give the first mass of his visit to Cuba in Havana's Revolution Square, Sept. 20.

Pope Francis climbs the steps to the altar upon arriving to give the first mass of his visit to Cuba in Havana’s Revolution Square, Sept. 20.

Last week, Pope Francis told Italian journalist and co-founder of the newspaper La Repubblica Eugenio Scalfari that “…it is the communists who think like Christians.”

Here is the exchange:

Q: You told me some time ago that the precept, “Love your neighbour as thyself” had to change, given the dark times that we are going through, and become “more than thyself.” So you yearn for a society where equality dominates. This, as you know, is the programme of Marxist socialism and then of communism. Are you therefore thinking of a Marxist type of society?

A: “It it has been said many times and my response has always been that, if anything, it is the communists who think like Christians. Christ spoke of a society where the poor, the weak and the marginalized have the right to decide. Not demagogues, not Barabbas, but the people, the poor, whether they have faith in a transcendent God or not. It is they who must help to achieve equality and freedom”.

Pope Francis also used a familiar progressive expression surrounding immigrants. He said in part, “…we need to break down walls and build bridges…” The pontiff said in part:

We must break down the walls that divide us: we must try to increase well-being and make it more widespread, but to achieve this we need to break down walls and build bridges that allow us to reduce inequality and increase freedom and rights. More rights and greater freedom.”

As an aside, Facebook founder Mark Zuckerburg was quoted in April as saying, “Instead of building walls we can help build bridges.” Just one month later, Zuckerburg reportedly “…started buying parcels around his Palo Alto home to protect his privacy.”

Iowa Berniecrat Chris Schwartz claims that his house was vandalized by Christians

By: Renee Nal | New Zeal

Vandalized sign posted by Chris Schwartz on Facebook

Iowan Chris Schwartz has alleged that vandalism found at his property on Thursday is the work of citizens influenced by “hateful rhetoric” of a Christian patriot group who vocally opposes his run for a seat on the Black Hawk County Board of Supervisors.

Chris Schwartz is a socialist running as a democrat in Black Hawk County, Iowa. He is endorsed by Bernie Sanders’ organization “Our Revolution” and is the state director of Americans for Democratic Action (ADA), an organization revealed as being used by communists to influence Democratic policy by former communist Marvin Treiger in Trevor Loudon’s film, the “Enemies Within.”

Chris Schwartz was described at The Nation in 2007 as “a recent graduate of the University of Northern Iowa and one of CAN’s vocal leaders.” CAN is the Campus Antiwar Network, which is “widely perceived to have been dominated by students from the ISO.”

ISO stands for the International Socialist Organization, a Trotskyist, communist group. ISO is notorious for supporting the Palestinian and Arab causes in the Middle East and led many militant protests against America’s war effort in Iraq. Additionally, virtually all leaders of the now-defunct CAN were members of ISO. In line with ISO policy, Schwartz was involved in anti-Israel activities and led an anti-Iraq war rally in support of Cindy Sheehan, who became a vocal critic of the Iraq war after her son was killed during his service in Iraq.

ISO’s website, SocialistWorker.org has quoted Chris Schwartz here and here.

An insight into Chris Schwartz’s anti-business, pro-government mentality is revealed in this 2011 blog post by Paul Deaton at the self-described “online information resource for Iowa’s progressive community:”

“To wrap up the speakers, Chris Schwartz of Working Families Win, Iowa spoke, with a list of grievances about the government. He touched on the South Korea, Columbia and Panama free trade agreements and on building an “infrastructure bank.” He opined that GMAC, a major employer in Waterloo, “is a corrupt company,” and that the electrical grid “can’t handle new technologies.” He asserted many opinions, the most evident of which was that “government should put people back to work.” Not once did he mention private companies in a favorable light. Some in the audience believe that government should not be the primary driver in putting people back to work. Schwartz had a different opinion.”

Egyptian youths escape Sharia inferno

By: Dr. Ashraf Ramelah | Voice of the Copts

Al Minya youth

Al Minya youth

Mocking Islam or mocking the prophet of Islam spells doom. In Egypt you will be arrested, home and property confiscated, and coerced to “force emigrate” from your town. Then count on a five-year prison term. This was exactly the penalty for four Coptic Christian school boys, ages 14 through 17, and their teacher.

Modernity grazed the 7th century when a lost cell phone turned up in the hands of a sectarian street thug ready for Sharia justice against its owner. The sim card showed a video of a 36-second skit mocking ISIS terrorists praying to Allah. Away from home on a school trip, the boys used their teacher’s phone to record the funny scene they acted out, thinking ISIS was fair game and knowing that Islam was not. Unfortunately for them, the cell phone was lost or stolen and missing for a solid year. Found by Muslims who became offended by the “blasphemy”, the Egyptian courts overlooked the violent retaliation by the gang prompted to attack homes and businesses and instead arrested the boys and their teacher.

On the same day Muslims struck the town, the police were notified and arrested the four Coptic boys and their teacher. Before their convictions by the courts, the Christian blasphemers were forced to apologize. One month later, on May 27, 2015, the boys were released on bail, and February of this year they were sentenced to prison for five years. They were allowed to pay a two thousand pound fee per student to temporarily suspend the verdict’s start date because they were not present at the sentencing.

This last fact was a big factor in reversing their fortune. The boys were facing the devastation of their remaining adolescence. They would soon be housed behind bars in cells with jihadists, possibly members of the Muslim Brotherhood or worse. The prospect was bleak, but all is well now thanks to anonymous channels.
The hidden hand of a courageous heart behind the scenes knowing the complexity of such matters delivered the four boys from an Egyptian inferno. They were enabled to tackle security to obtain their passports and move through customs bound for Turkey (a country with bad diplomatic relations with Egypt). As tragic, glaring examples of religious tyranny and “refugee” status as defined by the U.N., the boys have now arrived in Switzerland where their request for religious asylum was granted.

Upon arrival to safety in the West, one of the boys told a news reporter, “There was no reason to be treated like that; all was a joke, but now we may have an opportunity for a better life.”

Egyptian authorities are alarmed from reactions around the world related to the story and the negative publicity. The state is now bombarded with criticisms of the regime and its court system broadcast by brave media hosts in Egypt. The conversation goes on with some saying the boys were wrong to escape their sentencing; it would have been better for them to respect the courts, honor their country, and serve their time.

Of course the goal of Sadat and Saudi Arabia is clear; as stated decades earlier, the Middle East must be cleansed of Christians. The question remains; will Islam succeed?

Egyptian judoka Salafi-style: No withdraw, no win, no handshake

By: Dr. Ashraf Ramelah | Voice of the Copts

Egypt

The ancient Greek Olympiad, the origin of today’s Olympic Games, was held in honor of Zeus. The games were used as a political tool between rival city-states. It was all about victory and the assertion of dominance. The inception of the Olympiad dates back to nearly nine hundred years before the moon god, Allah, whispered his special message into humanity through the angel Gabriel. So, it is not odd that upon completion of the August 12 judo match of the Rio Olympics between Egyptian competitor, Islam el-Shehaby, and Isaeli champion, Or Sasson, that the devout Salafi publicly observed his god by refusing, according to Quranic commandment, to shake the extended winning hand of Sasson, the Jew.

When the match was over, Shehaby ignored Sasson, following the Quranic verse 2:65 (And will ye knew those amongst you who transgressed in the matter of the Sabbath: We said to them: “Be ye apes, despised and rejected”). This was not the case of a sore loser. The devout Muslim was paying homage to Allah. Deference to Allah is why Egyptian Copts are barred (unofficially) from Egypt’s Olympic training camps at an age when children are singled out for athletic talent. Christian family ancestry (the name of one’s great-great-grandfather) or simply the mandatory Egyptian ID card indicating Christianity will shut any candidate out.

Shehaby was internationally ranked very high at 25 in his weight class. As Egypt’s state champion, Salafi Shehaby’s chances were very good for victory; predictions were made that Islam would dominate. The Egyptian Olympic Authority knew it risked the dreaded possibility that Shehaby could face an Israeli champion. Sure enough the 32nd round of the judo matches determined this to be when the draw brought Sasson, ranked at 5, to face Shehaby. Cries of protest from the devout of Egypt (and other Islamic countries) for Shehaby to withdraw were deafening.

To settle the matter, Khalid Abdul Aziz (Egyptian Minister of Youth and Sports), relegated religious considerations to the rules and regulations of the world games. Shehaby’s potential triumph over an Israeli Jew would not be relinquished when the possibility of his dominance would bring great honor to Islam. Aziz went on CNN Arabic to quote the Olympic Charter, “Egypt is committed to the Olympic Charter, which does not recognize withdrawal of a participant, and it is not acceptable for any Egyptian athlete to withdraw from any competition. This would expose the player and country to sanctions. Egyptian athletes must accept competition with everyone, regardless of any other considerations.”

This actually gave the 34-year old Salafi judoka a choice. Reminded of his duty to the Charter and his country, he could stay on track. Otherwise, withdraw from the contest and abide by the religious dictates of his conscience (embodied in the disapproval of fellow believers). Shehaby, no doubt, had in mind fellow athlete, Ramadan Darwish, who overpowered his Israeli competition in the 2012 Dusseldorf quarterfinals of the German judo games delivering Egypt the Bronze medal. Darwish brought a double honor to Allah when he disregarded the after-match handshake in submission to the laws of his religious doctrine.

However, what Shehaby didn’t know choosing to go forward was that two days hence he would honor Allah in front of the world only by half his former teammate – losing the combat and likewise refusing the sportsman’s handshake. The final push for his decision to engage came from the president of the Egyptian Olympic Committee, Hisham Kattab, who confirmed that no one can force Shehaby to withdraw and shatter his hopes of an Olympic competition just because he happens to face an Israeli player. He went on to wish Shehaby a win and the achievement of an Olympic medal.

On the day of the match, reporters described Shehaby looking haggard, stepping onto the mat with his eyes darting and knees quivering. Bigotry is not easy. Just the thought of proximity is unnerving and, in this case, weakened resolve. Like Nasser’s ‘67 five-day defeat, in five minutes it was over for Shehaby. The Egyptian president returned from the world stage to apologize to the Egyptian people as Shehaby needs to do now. Egyptian government authorities and their Olympic committee publicly condemned Shehaby’s behavior calling the player back home. Meanwhile, Shehaby’s success resides in his contribution to the expansion of Islamic ideology.

Christian Coptic participation in Egypt’s Olympics is tokenism, if and when we see it. In their formative years, Egypt’s Christian children know they haven’t a shot at striving for the pinnacle of athletics and, for that matter, government, academics, politics or the military. Only just recently are there a handful of elected Christians to the Egyptian parliament. However, this will not yet lead to the reversal of institutionalized second-class status for minority religions.

Shehaby’s scraggly Mohammed-style beard, worn by devout Salafi Muslims, contradicted the ideal of former Egyptian participants in past Olympics, placing worship over country. Reaction to Shehaby upon return can be summed up in the malicious mockery found in the comments of media host and secularist, Dr. Khaled Montaser, who blogged on social media, “It’s clear that our judoka player is a cocktail of crap. He also refused to shake hands with the president of the Olympic Committee [a woman] during the investigation because it is haram [a sin]!!” An investigation by the Olympic Commission was made into Shehaby’s refusal to bow to his opponent according to regulation when the match ended. Montaser then evoked Osama Bin Laden’s hideout to say, “Even if this were the Tora Bora team one would never act like that!! El-Shehaby thought that he was in the Khaybar Gazwa.” He added, “Who sent such an Uncle Salafi to shame and disgrace us?”

The Left’s Stealth Religious War: Church of Liberalism vs Christianity

By: Lloyd Marcus

Christians

Much of my wife Mary and my time is spent traveling the country helping to elect conservatives to the House and Senate. I am chairman of the Conservative Campaign Committee.

On a rare stop back home in Florida, we decided to enjoy a day at our favorite New Smyrna Beach. After multiple stops for gas, banking and Walmart, we were finally on our way. It brought back fond childhood memories of hot summer family trips to the beach; mom, dad, fat Aunt Nee and five kids all crammed into a station-wagon with no air conditioning. The ritual included picking up Aunt Nee from her house and several stops for select foods to take with us. I remember the excitement I felt after all the stops and we were finally headed to Carr’s Beach; the only Maryland beach open to blacks.

Back to present day. Before we left home, Mary said, “Don’t forget a book to read.” Scanning our book shelves, Ann Coulter’s book published in 2006, “Godless” caught my eye.

In her book, Coulter said, “If a Martian landed in America and set out to determine the nation’s official state religion, he would have to conclude it is Liberalism, while Christianity and Judaism are prohibited by law.” Coulter said Liberalism is the state-sanctioned religion and is a godless one. Ten years later, Liberalism has become the state-mandated religion. Remarkably, practicing biblical Christianity has become illegal. http://bit.ly/1NPGbWI

Coulter says despite liberals claims of being non-religious, Liberalism has all the attributes of a religion. Coulter exposes the “Church of Liberalism” in which “its sacraments (abortion), its holy writ (Roe v. Wade)…its clergy (public school teachers), its churches (government schools, where prayer is prohibited but condoms are free)…its cosmology (in which mankind is an inconsequential accident).”

I would included the LGBT agenda as sacraments of the Church of Liberalism.

Seemingly over night in America, our freedom of speech, freedom of religion and parental rights have been taken away. Obama’s DOJ says it will prosecute anyone who speaks badly about Islam. http://bit.ly/1mxTG1G Christians are being persecuted and even jailed for not obeying sacraments of the Church of Liberalism. http://nws.mx/1EEMZmR Federal judges have decreed that parents are not allowed to opt out even their preschool children from LGBT indoctrination in school curriculum. http://bit.ly/1SEGJPi

Just like the Hitler Youth, the Obama Administration has indoctrinated students to become Church of Liberalism spies. Students are instructed to report family members who make racist and politically incorrect comments around the dinner table. http://bit.ly/1necFcz

My dad and Mary’s mom taught us that the democrats were for the little guy, the working man. Our parents are clueless regarding how far to the left their party has moved; becoming a godless cult – home of the Church of Liberalism.

The Church of Liberalism’s control of our government will dramatically increase if liberal zealot Hillary Clinton becomes president. Americans have been beaten down, forced to embrace the sacraments of this religious cult. A perfect example is ESPN awarding the Arthur Ashe Award to Bruce Jenner, a man in drag. http://bit.ly/1CJCZb0

C’mon folks, you can imagine what most of the men in that hall at the awards event were thinking. For the most part, pro sports is a celebration of maleness. And yet, those high testosterone pro-athletes knew they had better smile and applaud Bruce/Caitlyn Jenner or be forced into sensitivity training and risk losing their livelihood.

Typical of religious cults, the Church of Liberalism does not tolerant opposing points of view. Church of Liberalism zealots used the federal government to silence the Tea Party. http://bit.ly/29aPpMn The Church of Liberalism seeks to punish and silence Fox News. http://fxn.ws/29dlzJJ The Church of Liberalism brands all opposition, “hate speech” enabling them to use government to silence Christian pastors and close down Christian churches. http://bit.ly/1a5fb43

Decades of the Church of Liberalism controlling public education has reaped masses of dumbed-down Americans; brainwashed into embracing the Church of Liberalism’s tyranny. Dummies believe Church of Liberalism zealots are good guys, advocates for the disenfranchised; defending them against mean, selfish and racist Christians and Conservatives.

For example: Obama routinely trashes and rules against Christianity while forcing Christians to submit to the sacraments of the Church of Liberalism. http://bit.ly/P54u6I Obama displays his utmost respect for Islam. And yet, Obama’s Administration has made it quite clear that speaking badly about Islam or any of the sacraments of the Church of Liberalism could land you in jail. http://bit.ly/29eYq81

Think about the folks. Church of Liberalism zealots are free to outrageously blame Christians and law-abiding American gun owners for a massacre they had nothing to do with. We have suffered numerous incidents of Islamic terrorists attacks; killing Americans on US soil. And yet, our federal government threatens to jail anyone caught speaking badly about either of these two religions (Church of Liberalism and Islam).

Christians are being banned from many jobs and jailed for not submitting to sacraments of the Church of Liberalism. http://bit.ly/1K1LKi8

Folks, the America we knew is gone. Prayer, repentance and a regime change should be our first baby steps towards restoring our nation. This is one of the many reasons why my battle cry is, “Never Hillary!”

The American Left is Evil: Orlando Shooting

By: Lloyd Marcus

Shooting

The American Left is just plain evil. Not only do they not seek truth, they suppress it. Everything the Left does, including shamefully exploiting the slaughter of Americans in a nightclub, is to further their deception and power to force their unpopular agenda down our throats.

Leftists are the minority. However, they own the federal government, social media, public education, Hollywood and the Democratic party. They use inciting misdirected anger, hate and guilt to bully the public into embracing their anti-American and anti-God agenda. Because the Left controls the media, they get away with falsely portraying their opposition. The Left takes disapproval of them forcing their agenda on us to absurd extremes.

For example: If you say “no” to men using girl’s restrooms, Leftists in the media brand you an insane hatemonger who seeks the murder of all homosexuals. If you disagree with the Left’s illogical obsession with disarming Americans, repealing the second amendment, Leftist media brands you a racist toothless idiot redneck that wants to shoot all people who do not look like you.

The Left used the same take-opposition-to-absurd-extremes tactic to brand the Tea Party racist. The good folks in the Tea Party simply disagreed with Obama’s unlawful overreaches and ignoring of the Constitution. The Congressional Black caucus despicably took their opposition to the absurd extreme claiming that the Tea Party would “love” to see black Americans “hanging on a tree.” http://fxn.ws/28JcQxm

Upon hearing about the Orlando nightclub shooting, I told Mary, my wife, “You watch, the Left will say all who disapprove with men using girl’s restrooms are just as bad as the Orlando shooter.” Sure enough, that was the Left’s outrageous absurd story line reported by numerous news outlets. Summarizing the Left’s media blitz, they said if you do not affirm the LGBT community and the implementation of their agenda, you are equal to the Orlando shooter; a rabid hater, responsible for those killed in the nightclub. I wonder how many Americans are falling for it.

Do you see how the Left’s insidious game is played? All who oppose the Left’s relentless attacks on biblical principles and our constitutional rights are branded stupid, haters and bigots by the media. Then the Left launches a shock and awe campaign to destroy the offender. More and more Americans know the drill; bullied into silence and compliance.

It is sad how the Left has been able to pervert the word “love” into meaning we must embrace deviant and immoral behaviors.

The most annoying thing about the Left’s bogus image of “caring more than the rest of us” is their policies and ideas end up harming the people they claim to champion 99% of the time. Decades of blacks faithfully voting for Democrats (Leftists) has resulted in urban areas becoming hellholes of black on black crime, fatherless households, epidemic school dropouts, poverty and government dependency. http://bit.ly/1TLhZWa Leftists always make every situation they touch worse.

Obama’s Leftist (politically correct) CVE policy http://bit.ly/1rsH4eT tied the hands of the FBI, blocked them from using intel they had on the Islamist terrorist Orlando shooter. Thus, Obama bears some responsibility for the deaths of the homosexuals in the Orlando nightclub. Pure and simple. And yet, Obama and his media buddies are relentlessly trying to blame the massacre on Christians and American gun owners.

Despicably, Obama and his media buddies are hellbent on convincing Americans that the greatest source of evil and threat to Americans is not Islamist terrorists. It is Christians and American gun owners. http://bit.ly/1Ox4kDI Again, I wonder how many Americans are being duped by their deception and misdirection from the truth?

Speaking of Obama’s evil efforts to cover for Islam and blame Christians and American gun owners, his DOJ is deleting all references of radical Islamic beliefs from the transcripts of the Orlando shooter’s 911 call. http://fxn.ws/28Ikfei

By the way, America has suffered a terrorist attack every year under Obama. Deaths from terrorism have quadrupled under Obama. http://bit.ly/1Nrfqsu And yet, thanks to his media buddies covering for him, Obama approval polling is over 50%.

At times, the Left’s seemingly successful steamrollering of our culture puts me in a bit of a funk. History chronicles that the path America has chosen has destroyed other civilizations; destruction of the traditional family (fatherless households and etc); the graying of the line between right and wrong and rebellion against God’s natural laws. Therefore, I mourn for my country.

However, I do find encouragement to continue fighting the good fight by reminding myself that God is in control and America is worth it.

As she tallied up my groceries, I asked the supermarket cashier, “Are you still working at the bank?” When I moved to Florida 16 years ago, this same Hispanic woman was working as a bank-teller and supermarket cashier. She relied, “Yes.” I said, “You’re amazing.” The elderly woman chuckled and said, “Hey, you gotta do what you gotta do. God is good.” Her cheerful demeanor and self-reliance blessed me. Obviously, she does not believe taxpayers owe her a living.

Folks, I realize this anecdotal example of character is not a big deal. And yet, it served as a cool sip of water in my desert of despair regarding the declining character of my country. God is good!

Vatican ecumenism forsakes Egypt’s Christian minorities

By: Dr. Ashraf Ramelah | Voice of the Copts

Pope

Pope Francis, who is “building bridges to build peace” around the world, has naturally reached out to embrace Sunni Muslims. Last month, for the first time after years of Vatican silence, Pope Francis summoned to his private library in Rome grand imam Ahmed El-Tayeb of Cairo’s Al-Ahzar Mosque Institute. Absent a press release before this event, the Pope was quoted as saying, “this meeting is the message” – leading all to dwell on the meaning and purpose of their 25 minutes together. Christians, especially Egyptian Coptic Christians, have observed the Catholic pope give the “sign of peace” to the grand imam who has yet been unwilling to denounce ISIS. Unity existed between the two religious branches previous to former Pope Benedict XVI condemning Islam’s inclination to violence. This message of reconciliation comes during the Al-Sisi government which has stood opposed to the favored and protected status of an organization entwined with Al-Ahzar — the Muslim Brotherhood – and against the ascendency of this terror network and others beginning before his presidential campaign.

Two days before their historic meeting, headlines around the world reported the violent and humiliating act committed by a Muslim mob in Upper Egypt against a Christian woman in a Christian-majority village. Homes where razed and a grandmother was stripped naked, dragged from her house and beaten in the street. Egypt’s courts are not officially Sharia but street justice involving private matters is strictly Islamic doctrine (coercion of non-Muslims), and violence has no real consequences in the courts. No words came from either of the leaders in the “Jubilee of Mercy” meeting (its official title) to address this incident, which by the nature of this attack holds deeper, more serious implications in Egyptian culture. An elderly woman in Egypt is considered sacrosanct, and practically speaking, this means across sectarian lines she is universally respected for her tenderness and kindheartedness toward others. Even codified barbarity had had this limit before now.

Evidence of Al-Sisi’s attempt at reform of Islamic doctrine met by Al-Ahzar reluctance is seen recently in the Institute’s insignificant changes to public school textbooks and mosque preaching. Presently, President Al-Sisi is stifled in his efforts to expunge religious supremacy from Egypt without cooperation from Al-Ahzar and apparently even with its assistance. As these particulars are the cultural foundation used for oppressing Christians, it is now hopeful that Francis will focus on such issues. Although Francis has not been terribly outspoken on Coptic Church destruction, he has grieved with the Orthodox of Egypt and offered his prayers over the spilled blood of Christians in Libya recognizing the Coptic Christian martyrs.

Solidarity (a hug and kisses) shown in this re-connection of Cairo’s Sunni grand imam with the Catholic Pope followed by silence (no official statements) helps to bolster and propel the position of the Institute’s goals for Egypt, which are far from optimal in the cause for freedom of religion and speech and the subject of human rights. It is not likely that Francis will meet with President Al-Sisi, if he hasn’t first already done so, even though by contrast Al-Sisi projects real hope for Egypt’s future in his committed struggle for freedom and equality. This we see in regard to Egypt’s deep state (the tentacles of Al-Ahzar religious brainwashing), from which Al-Sisi seeks to disentangle and de-program out of the administrations of the state. He rose to office on that claim and until now has produced evidence of genuineness along with impossible odds. It is logical to assume by Francis’ exclusion of Al-Sisi and, for that matter, Coptic Pope Tawadros II, who represents 20 million Christians, that building bridges was not foremost on the mind of Pope Francis. The absence of these key figures in the room does in itself shed light onto the meaning of the meeting; in effect, by this oversight, Francis acknowledges only the deep state.

For Pope Francis, ecumenical zeal is more his quest than a real concern for solutions to the rise of jihad. However, the Vatican’s ecumenism comes at the expense of Egypt’s human rights. This encounter may symbolize for many an affirmation of peace attained through submission. After all, Francis now reached out to El-Tayeb in an apologetic mode for the public “insult” in denouncing Islam’s violence some years back. But Francis intends his appeasement to speak for the entire Christian world.

Last year, remarking upon the slaughter of 21 Coptic Christians by Sunni Muslim jihadists in Libya, Francis told leaders of the Church of Scotland that, “I ask that we encourage each other to go forward with this ecumenism which is giving us strength, the ecumenism of blood.” In that emotional moment Francis capitalized on martyrdom to bind together Christian protestant denominations under the Roman Catholic umbrella which in turn extends a hand to Islam. The pope’s ecumenical fanaticism is blurring the lines of theological differences for the sake of one spiritual conglomerate without much thought to religious minorities preferring to remain divided from certain doctrine and the indoctrinators linked to the throat-slashers of Libya.

In the end, we are left with questions and speculation of what to expect in the aftermath of this meeting. Will the world see less vengeful opposition to the Roman pope’s 12th century crusade? Will we see a new edict declaring that jihad is inappropriate for today’s civilized world or Al-Ahzar denounce ISIS? Will we see a public statement by the two heads condemning the use of religion to commit violence? And finally, might all this potential good we await be based on a designation called “heavenly,” which the pope may have bestowed upon the Sunni sect during this meeting? For many decades, Cairo’s Muslim authorities have sought this label to prove religious equality with the faiths of Christianity and Judaism and have looked to the Roman Catholic pope for this ultimate seal of approval.
