Mississippi ‘Vote Trump’ church fire NOT politically motivated, claims fire marshal

By: Renee Nal | New Zeal

Hopewell Missionary Baptist Church after fire

Andrew McClinton, 45, of Leland, Mississippi is the black American accused of scrawling “VOTE TRUMP” on the side of a predominately black church in Greenville, Mississippi before setting it on fire.

Interestingly, the Associated Press reported that despite the message spray-painted on the side of the building, “the state fire marshal said investigators do not believe the fire was politically motivated…”

McClinton, who has an extensive criminal history, is “charged with first degree arson of a place of worship.”

The crime was rewarded with massive media attention at the time, including a full article at the New York Times. But alas, the narrative so desperately sought after by the left was once again shattered. At the time Greenville Mayor Errick Simmons lamented:

“We consider it a hate crime because of the political message which we believe was intended to interfere with worship and intimidate voters…It happened in the ’50s, it happened in the ’60s. It shouldn’t happen in 2016.”

The incident follows a veritable collapsing of “Trump-Inspired Hate Crimes” nation-wide as multiple incidents are being routinely dismissed as hoaxes.

Spinning the Circles

By: T F Stern
T F Stern’s Rantings

NetworkingMany years ago a friend of mine invited me to become a part of a multilevel marketing business, a chance to start something on the side and provide extra income.  This wasn’t some get rich quick scheme and would require effort and acquiring new skills to become moderately successful.

One of the first skills was learning to ‘spin the circles’, my friends way of saying that you had to stand in front of an audience with a chalkboard and invite them to share their dreams, dreams which were in fact goals worthy of extra effort needed to start their own business and join your group.

A random sampling would include new cars, home improvements like remodeling the kitchen, fancy jewelry, travel to exotic vacation spots and so on.  Inevitably there would be one person who was above ‘material things’, a person who dreamed of ‘World Peace’; the perfect beauty pageant answer that said absolutely nothing.  This individual wore a holier than thou smirk as if to say he was satisfied with a twelve year old beater and didn’t appreciate being challenged beyond the 40 hour work week; life was more than filling a toy box with more toys.  Next!

This came to mind as I went over the lessons shared at church yesterday.  During Sunday School we’d talked about  Miracles and how they were presented in the New Testament.  Class members shared some of their experiences which they considered to have been miraculous to some degree.

One brother had been involved in what could easily have been a fatal traffic accident; but for the ‘grace of God’ he some how survived and was able to regain full use of his body.  Another talked about a relative who’d been given six months to live after being diagnosed with cancer; but two years later is cancer free.

An older brother added to the discussion by mentioning that when he purchased tires for his car they came with a sixty thousand mile warranty.  He paused and formed his next thought carefully, “If I’ve calculated correctly…, I only need to purchase one more set of tires based on how many miles I drive a year”.   Now that’s a sobering thought; recognizing the inevitable ‘jumping off place’ as you approach mortality’s finite limits.

But what about those who die unexpectedly; step in front of a fast moving truck or have a sudden heart attack?  How do these individuals plan out their mortality, or does finality enter into the equation as they meander through life much as a leaf blown hither and thither?

spinning2I should mention that the last hour of study was tied to a General Conference talk given by Thomas S. Monson,  Guided Safely Home, wherein we were challenged to figure out our ‘purpose’; an extremely broad topic requiring a bit of thought.

Depending on what level of ‘purpose’ you were thinking about the answers could be as trivial as obtaining a new car, better employment, writing a best selling novel or…, the top prize, exaltation in the Celestial Kingdom sitting in the presence of our Father in Heaven.   What level of ‘purpose’ was/is worth altering your life style choices?

If you wanted to improve your relationship with your wife or children what would you consider doing?  If you wanted to become successful at work how would you go about improving your chances?  If you wanted to improve your relationship with God what have the prophets told us?

The more I thought about the lessons, putting the two together as I contemplated my own ‘purpose’, it came to me; these lessons had been presented much the same as ‘spinning the circles’, not much different than multilevel marketing.

I’m no spring chicken and recognize the time limits placed on my mortality.  What do I wish to accomplish with the time given me; assuming I don’t step in front of the proverbial truck or have that unexpected heart attack that takes me before I’ve planned my own funeral?

To ‘spin the circles’ and grow your own business you needed to find out your prospect’s short term, mid range and long term goals.  These goals must be strong enough stimulate a prospect into acting upon them.  If you couldn’t bring out a worthy challenge then the likelihood of bringing the prospect on board were greatly diminished.

I remember hearing about a fellow who when asked what he might do to improve his lot in life responded, “Hey, I’ve got a television and a six pack of beer; what else do I need?”  Not everyone will respond to an invitation to grow.

I’d love to have a new truck with all the bells and whistles.  My house in Buffalo is coming along; but wouldn’t it be great to have top of the line appliances instead of entry level Sears?  I’ve been slowing down my hours in business intentionally as I get closer to retirement; wouldn’t it be great to have some kind of supplemental income other than my police retirement and social security?

spinning3My creative writing has slowed down; isn’t it worth a little extra effort to share some of the thoughts that are lined up in that fog of a brain?  Spending more time at the temple, to be fully immersed in scripture study gaining a better understanding of what the Lord would have me do; that would be the sweetest thing of all…

A tune from Fiddler on the Roof invades my thought process.

…If I were a rich man,
Yubby dibby dibby dibby dibby dibby dibby dum.
All day long I’d biddy biddy bum.
If I were a wealthy man.
I wouldn’t have to work hard.
Idle-diddle-daidle-daidle man.
Lord who made the lion and the lamb,
You decreed I should be what I am.
Would it spoil some vast eternal plan?
If I were a wealthy man.

As I close my thoughts, pausing to breathe out and proclaim quietly, “Oye”…, the question remains, what is my purpose, my goal to accomplish in the time allotted me?   What will I do differently to bring about those changes necessary to accomplish my life’s mission?

More importantly, what will you do?  Will you take a few moments to consider your purpose?

Muslim Brotherhood-Aligned Leaders Hosted at State Department

The State Department hosted a delegation of Muslim Brotherhood-aligned leaders.last week. The delegation included Sarwat Nafei, a self-described liberal elected as speaker of the Egyptian parliament in exile; Waleed Sharaby, secretary general of the Egyptian Revolutionary Council and a spokesman for Judges for Egypt, a group reported to have close ties to the Brotherhood; Maha Azzam, head of the Egyptian Revolutionary Council; Abdul Mawgoud Dardery, an exiled Muslim Brotherhood member and Egyptian parliamentarian; and Mohammed Gamal Heshmet, an exiled member of the Muslim Brotherhood shura council and Egyptian parliamentarian.

The delegation sought help in restoring former President Mohamed Morsi and the Muslim Brotherhood to power in Egypt. On June 30, 2013 the largest protests in recorded human history in Egypt led to the ouster of then President Mohamed Morsi. Bringing into power anti- Muslim Brotherhood President Abdel Fatah el-Sisi. el-Sisi has called for a “religious revolution” asking Muslim leaders to help in the fight against extremism. If this is so then why would the Obama administration want to host a terrorist group hellbent to unseat, assassinate or otherwise destroy the elected President of Egypt? President Obama should be working hand in hand with this reformer and US ally. Patriot or Traitor?

A few days after the delegation visited the State Department, a Brotherhood affiliated television warned foreign tourists and business interests to leave Egypt, or risk becoming a “target for the revolutionary punishment movements.” The Muslim Brotherhood also called for “a long, uncompromising jihad” in Egypt. The Muslim Brotherhood has been designated as a terrorist group by Russia, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, United Arab Emirates, and Egypt. President Obama does not consider the MB a terrorist organization. Patriot or Traitor?

What they are saying.

  • Pamela Geller. “Obama is neither clueless, naive, or stupid. He knows just what he is doing, and it’s treason.”
  • Linda S. Heard, Middle East expert. “If the White House is out to offend some of its closet Arab allies and is intent on heightening their suspicions, it’s succeeded.”
  • Said Lindawi, Egyptian international affairs expert. “The meeting of the MB leaders with State Department officials means that the Obama Administration has given the organization a green light to carry out terrorist attacks against Egypt.”
  • Patrick Poole, terrorism expert and national security reporter. “The MB and State Department meeting is a direct insult to our Egyptian allies, who are in an existential struggle against the Muslim Brotherhood.”
  • Terresa Monroe Hamilton, NoisyRoom.net. “In a world filled with intentionally increasing danger, it is more important than ever to speak the truth clearly and boldly. We are in a dangerous position with President Obama who supports the Muslim Brotherhood and yet has 2 more years in office. In essence…. Pray with your eyes wide open!”

When will ALL of us wake up. You decide.
Patriot or Traitor?

Waleed Sharaby, a Brotherhood-aligned judge in Egypt, posed for a picture at the State Department in which he held up the Islamic group’s notorious four-finger Rabia symbol. The enemy within, dealing with the Obama Administration. Patriot or Traitor?

The President gives excuses for what ISIS is doing, and compares them to the Crusades, and slavery in our own country. The President just gave ISIS the best recruiting commercial they could hope for. Patriot or Traitor? Ask your church this weekend. Is it right for the President to compare ISIS with Christians?

Obama: The Politician Without a Church

By: Cliff Kincaid
Accuracy in Media

POLITICO has run a piece citing various claims that President Obama is a practicing Christian of some sort. Nice try. But the article is entirely unconvincing.

Obama isn’t prevented from going to a Christian church and doesn’t cite security reasons for not attending. Instead, he “worries that his presence detracts from other worshippers’ experience,” the publication said. We are told he reads scripture and prays in private.

In 2008, when he first ran for president, the Obama campaign insisted he was a “committed Christian.” Glenn Greenwald, who later became NSA defector Edward Snowden’s mouthpiece, found Obama’s claim so alarming that he wrote an article for Salon about it. Greenwald, whose anti-American outlook includes Muslim sympathies, was apparently deeply concerned that Obama could, in fact, be a committed Christian.

We now understand that Obama’s Christian claim was as phony as his promise, “If you like your health care plan, you can keep it.”

POLITICO reports that Obama has “attended Sunday services only occasionally, visiting a patchwork of congregations 19 times in all since taking office, according to a POLITICO analysis of White House pool reports.” Further down in the story we learn that “In all, Obama has gone to services on about 6 percent of the Sundays of his presidency and just once on Christmas Day, in 2011, which also happened to be a Sunday.”

Another insight into Obama’s religiosity is when he tries to quote from the Bible or make religious references. He once compared Mary and Joseph to illegal aliens. Even The Washington Post admitted that was false. On another occasion, he said, “The good book says, don’t throw stones in glass houses.” But the Bible has no such quote.

It appears that this man of deep faith, as described by POLITICO, doesn’t even read the “good book” he likes to quote from. So what has he been doing in those private prayer and Bible study sessions?

But the story goes beyond mere hypocrisy.

When questions emerged about Obama’s religious affiliation, in view of his Muslim background, his aides flatly asserted that he was a “practicing Christian” and was “baptized” in the Trinity United Church of Christ. We examined that claim and found it wanting. As we noted at the time, “People see him [Obama] playing golf on Sunday; they don’t see him going to church.”

Obama’s claim to being baptized in the Christian faith is found in his second book, The Audacity of Hope, published in 2006. Obama wrote on page 208, “I was finally able to walk down the aisle of Trinity United Church of Christ one day and be baptized.” We argued that what Obama described sounds like a religious experience, but not what Christians regard as baptism.

Obama’s pastor for 20 years, Jeremiah Wright, gave a speech in which he praised Marxism and faulted the media for claiming that communism and Christianity were somehow opposed to one another.

It also turns out that Wright’s church accepted Muslims as members. Wright told author Edward Klein that he “made it comfortable” for Obama to accept Christianity “without having to renounce his Islamic background.”

Obama is now on vacation in Hawaii, and the White House is releasing details about his daily activities. “Like most Americans,” the White House proclaims, “President Obama is a creature of habit.” But church or Bible study doesn’t appear to be on his list of priorities. His activities are said to include:

  • Daily morning workout at the Semper Fit Center at MCBH [Marine Corps Base Hawaii]
  • Golf at the Kaneohe Klipper golf course
  • Golf at the Mid-Pacific Country Club
  • Golf at the Ko’olau Golf Club
  • Golf at the Royal Hawaiian Golf Club
  • Dinner at Alan Wong’s Restaurant
  • Dinner at Nobu Waikiki
  • Dinner at Morimoto Waikiki
  • Visit Punchbowl Cemetery
  • Snorkeling at Hanauma Bay
  • Christmas Day: Visit service members at Anderson Hall
  • New Year’s Eve: Traditional talent show at home
  • Bowling at K-Bay Lanes at MCBH
  • Basketball at MCBH
  • Swim at Pyramid Rock Beach
  • Swim at Bellows Beach
  • Shave Ice at Island Snow in Kailua
  • Hike the Maunawili Falls trail

One writer, Hrafnkell Haraldsson, a self-described heathen, didn’t like the POLITICO story for another reason. He doesn’t even like the topic of Obama’s religiosity being discussed. “It doesn’t matter if Obama goes to church or not,” he wrote. “It doesn’t matter if he is even a Christian, or, as conservatives often charge, a Muslim. In a word, it is nobody’s concern but that of Barack Obama himself.”

Of course, if Obama claims to be a Christian, and the evidence suggests otherwise, it is a significant story. That’s because his alleged Christianity was a factor in his 2008 and 2012 victories.

In 2008, for example, Catholics voted for Obama by a margin of 54-45. In 2012, the margin was 50-48.

Now, with his recognition and bailout of the Castro regime, he can count on Pope Francis being in his corner. It’s quite an achievement for a politician without a church.
