Author, filmmaker warns of biggest US threat is those who threaten the Constitution

By: Bryant Maddrick | Fox 28

The terror attack in London has some American cities on alert, watching activity on major bridges.

Author and filmmaker Trevor Loudon says the biggest threat here is not ISIS or Al Qaida. It’s what happening right here on American soil

“You cannot rely on the government in its present state to effectively guard your internal security to keep you safe,” says Loudon.

That’s the message the author and filmmaker is making in his book and documentary, both titled “The Enemies Within.”

“What we’re talking about are the internal enemies of the Constitution. We contend these are actually more dangerous.”

Loudon argues groups like the Muslim Brotherhood have influenced members of Congress. The New Zealand native has been traveling the country talking to people about what he sees as a problem and the solution to it.

“Have the Muslim brotherhood designated officially by the state department as a terrorist organization. Just as Hamas is, just as Al Qaida is.”

Loudon makes his point on the same day as a deadly terror attack in London that left four dead.

“There are Islamic cells all over Europe, all over the Middle East, and obviously here in America who can strike at a moment’s notice.”

The New Zealand native says it’s another reminder of the world we live in.

“If we don’t do something about it, it’s just going to be a continual pattern of American and Europeans being slaughtered in their own homes, in their own cities.”

Loudon explains his message is not to appeal to partisan politics. Instead, it’s to appeal to American’s love for the constitution.

“They do want their American identity. They know the country’s based on the Constitution. They know it’s based on a free enterprise system and strong national defense. They know America has been a world leader and most Americans will buy into that.”

Loudon will take his message to the Cincinnati area before going to Canada.

Texas Marxist wins Community College Board of Trustees election: Socialism growing rapidly in “Lone Star” state

By: Trevor Loudon | New Zeal

One more Marxist wins office in Texas…a trickle that must be stemmed before it becomes a tide.

In a surprisedown-ballot election victory, Austin Democratic Socialists of America member and Sanders campaign activist, Julie Ann Nitsch, won her runoff for Austin Community College Board of Trustees on December 13th, running as a Democrat.

Nitsch started her campaign at a clear disadvantage, lacking name recognition or a political resume. She had never held a public office, or served on any local boards or commissions. Meanwhile, her strongest opponent had served as ACC trustee for the previous 6 years, had a long resume of community activism, and received endorsements from most local Democratic elected officials and leaders.

But Nitsch did have the strong backing of a huge Bernie movement in Central Texas, a DSA chapter whose large membership provided over 100 block walkers and phone bankers, and the full support of Our Revolution (the national organization that grew out of the Sanders campaign) in the runoff election.

After volunteering for the Sanders campaign in the summer of 2015, Nitsch became the Campaign Coordinator of Texans for Bernie for Travis County and, later, one of five Austin DSA comrades who served as Sanders delegates at the DNC.

Nitsch’s progressive vision and strong support base made for a vigorous, people-powered campaign. According to Austin DSA Co-Chair Danny Fetonte, “DSA members provided the foot soldiers for the campaign.” Nearly 300 DSAers staffed phone banks, attended Democratic Clubs and union meetings with Nitsch, block walked, did mailings, and put up signs at member’s homes and at friendly businesses.

Our Revolution also played a pivotal role in Nitsch’s victory. They sent over 51,000 text messages and made over 13,000 calls to supporters during the campaign. According to volunteers, many of the people that voted for Nitsch did so as a direct result of Our Revolution’s concerted efforts.

The Texas Democratic Party is being heavily infiltrated by Democratic Socialists of America Marxists, who are enjoying explosive growth on the back of the Sanders Presidential campaign and the anti-Trump movement.

In recent months, DSA has opened locals all over Texas, from Dallas to El Paso, Houston to the Brazos Valley and San Antonio.

DSA locals, DSA website, 01.26.2017

Backed by union muscle and money, much of it from out of state, DSA aims to play a major role in the left’s rapidly expanding campaign to turn Texas blue.

This Marxist activism in the heart of Red State Texas should neither be ignored or underestimated. If Texas can be flipped back to the Democrats, there will never be another Republican or conservative President. America as we know it will be over.

Van Jones Leads CNN Assault on Trump

By: Cliff Kincaid | Accuracy in Media

In his blockbuster new film, “Civil War 2017,” Trevor Loudon asks why the political left is so determined to destroy the Trump presidency. Matthew Vadum of the Capital Research Center responds that Trump “doesn’t back down from a fight,” unlike previous “squishy” Republicans. What’s more, Trump has upended the “progressive coalition” by convincing millions of Democrats to abandon their union leaders and the Democratic Party.

Marxism is at a crossroads. And so are its adherents in the media, such as Van Jones of CNN. Jones is smart enough to know that Trump has tapped into the anger and discontent of American workers. But at the same time, he is compelled to rally what remains of the progressive coalition against Trump. That is why he spoke at the “Women’s March on Washington” on Saturday, and then went on CNN to comment on what he said.

You may have missed the highlights. It featured filthy language, transgenderism, the benefits of killing the unborn, rights for illegal aliens and pure unadulterated communism.

By way of background, remember that the workers used to be the cornerstone of the revolution. The phrase, “Workers of the world unite,” is right from the Communist Manifesto. These workers are now behind Trump. They want jobs, not heroin. They want economic and industrial development in traditional fossil fuel industries that the Democratic Party has been trying to bankrupt through the climate change hoax and green energy scams.

The demonstration was financed by the abortion industry front known as Planned Parenthood and the environmentalist group called the Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC). The one union leader who spoke at the demonstration was George Gresham, president of the largest labor union in New York City representing health care workers.

Where were the leaders of the industrial unions? They were nowhere to be found. And that is because many of their members voted for Trump.

The involvement of the NRDC is a reflection of the suicidal tendency that infects the Democratic Party. The NRDC’s logo used to be a grizzly bear and later became a polar bear to shift the focus to climate change. This may appeal to liberal elites, but the workers who backed Trump would like to see some compassion for the workers losing their jobs to bad trade deals and climate change agreements that deindustrialize the U.S.

The so-called women’s march featured communists like Angela Davis, transgendered people, Muslims, foul-mouthed Hollywood celebrities and illegal aliens. This group represents the strain of Marxism known as Cultural Marxism. It cannot co-exist with workers who still retain love of country and “cling” to traditional religious values. They don’t want to lose their jobs to illegals.

At the women’s march, backed by important members of the Democratic Party, we had an unrepentant communist who not only spoke but served as a co-chair. In our column, “Black Power Icon Goes Vegan to Save Animals,” we noted how Davis has tried in her career to cover all of the Marxist cultural bases. She started out with the Communist Party, became a lesbian, and is now a spokesman for animal rights. Along the way she was given the Lenin Peace Prize.

However, the bio of Angela Davis at the demonstration’s website makes no mention of her communist affiliations.

At the women’s march, she thanked Obama for commuting the sentences of transgender traitor Bradley/Chelsea Manning and Puerto Rican terrorist Oscar Lopez Rivera. “We celebrate the impending release of Chelsea Manning,” she said, “and Oscar Lopez Rivera. But we also say free Leonard Peltier. Free Mumia Abu-Jamal. Free Assata Shakur.”

Peltier killed two FBI agents, while Abu-Jamal and Assata Shakur are convicted cop-killers. Shakur fled to Cuba and is living under the protection of that communist regime.

Davis was followed to the podium by Raquel Willis, a self-described queer black transgender feminist woman.

As if the parade of Marxists, sexual oddballs and misfits was not enough, several Hollywood celebrities and “artists” turned out. The entertainer named Madonna was more extreme than usual and talked about blowing up the White House amid using the F-word. Actress Ashley Judd’s “Nasty Woman” routine was filthy, gross and offensive. The march was definitely not family-friendly.

If you want to understand why the workers are turning on the Democrats, some of the performances at the women’s march will help you understand why.

The media were represented as well. Van Jones, a speaker at the rally, was identified on the march’s website as “President of Dream Corps” and “CNN Commentator.”

“Van Jones is a CNN political commentator, regularly appearing across the network’s programming and special political coverage,” says his own Dream Corps website. “In 2009,” the bio says, “Jones worked as the green jobs advisor to President Barack Obama.” What it doesn’t say is that he was forced out of that job when his communist background was exposed. He had been involved in STORM (Standing Together to Organize a Revolutionary Movement).

Jones’ Dream Corps, the latest organization he has created, claims to champion “World-class support for world-changing solutions,” whatever that means. Its “partners” include Trinity United Church of Christ. Remember Jeremiah Wright’s and Barack Obama’s church?

The group also boasts of some heavy hitters as donors, including Facebook, Google, the Ford Foundation and the Executive Office of the President of the United States.

The latter is significant. Jones lost his White House job only to get funded by the Obama White House. It’s interesting the way that worked out.

It is also interesting to note, however, that when you click on the Dream Corps donor logo for the presidential office, you immediately go to the website of President Donald J. Trump. It seems that the website has been updated.

It’s unlikely that the new administration will be financing Van Jones’ latest scheme. But he’ll no doubt continue to be on the payroll of CNN, where, among other things, he has done programs on what is called “The Messy Truth.”  How appropriate.

Trump is the Exorcist of Political Correctness

By: Cliff Kincaid | Accuracy in Media

It is refreshing to see President-elect Trump on his “Thank You” tour speaking from a podium that proclaims “Merry Christmas.” The Trump victory was a revolt against Cultural Marxism, also known as political correctness. In that world, Merry Christmas is watered down into “Happy Holidays.”

In fact, says one strategic analyst, “Trump won because he got on his side a big segment of the population that has been under furious and brutal attack for more than 50 years by the political correctness of Cultural Marxism. This cultural and sociological attack from Cultural Marxists was extremely intense and conducted at full high speed for the last eight years of the Obama regime with its grand social engineering and cultural remake of the country.”

Ron Aledo, a retired U.S. Army officer and former senior analyst for the CIA and the Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA), has written a provocative analysis of the U.S. election results, saying that Trump’s victory was economic but also cultural.

He says that the Trump victory was “not only an incredible miracle as he won basically against all and everything, from CNN to furious non-stop (and something ridiculous) attacks from the Washington Post, the New York Times, ABC, CBS, MSNBC, Hollywood, 90% of all U.S and European journalists, the establishment of both the Democratic and Republican parties and millions of brainwashed naive Millennials;  but furthermore, Trump’s victory is a real Counter-revolution of the Silent Majority against the brutality of the witch hunt of Cultural Marxism and Political Correctness.”

Aledo says a rebellion against Cultural Marxism, which is associated with the Frankfurt School of Critical Theory that has come to dominate academia, was the big factor in the Trump win.

He says that while Trump’s promise to repeal Obamacare and renegotiate trade deals were part of the victory, there was something else at work in the reaction of the population. He said the “Silent Majority,” defined as “the simple people who live away from the Frankfurt School dictatorship of the large cities, were desperate for someone who would speak for them and to them. That people, free from the viral infection of Cultural Marxism of the big cities, wanted to keep their traditional lifestyle and were sick and tired of the fecal-like products that the TV networks, Hollywood, the media, and the pop culture kept launching at them.”

He explains, “These simple people with common sense were tired of Black Lives Matter, ‘happy holidays’ instead of Merry Christmas, ugly short hair and shirtless women protesting for their ‘right’ to kill babies, Lady Gaga, the so-called gay pride parades of naked men walking in the streets, the Modern Family TV show, CNN reporters trying to brainwash them, the removal of crosses and Nativity scenes, Miley Cyrus, and the feminine looking young men in the streets, among others.”

“It was a revolution that took 50 years to advance but is finally here,” says Aledo. He quotes the Christian historian H. W. Crocker as saying that Trump is a true exorcist of political correctness.

In an interview conducted before the election, Crocker, the executive editor of Regnery Publishing, said that what Trump was doing was “what any smart Republican needed to do, which was build a new coalition with blue collar conservatives.” He explained, “Republicans can’t win nationally unless they redraw the electoral map—he does that. He’s the only one who could do that.”

Crocker said that after Romney’s defeat in 2012, he commissioned former Senator Rick Santorum to write a book called Blue Collar Conservatives, which showed what needed to be done. “Trump apparently read that book and put it into play,” he said.

Explaining Trump’s approach, Crocker said, “Republicans usually let Democrats, the enforcers of political correctness, set the agenda; they even grant them the moral high ground—and then they play defense or try to moderate Democrat proposals. Trump sets his own agenda—and does it the reverse of the normal Republican way. He plants his flag on the right and then walks it back as necessary, moving the center to the right. That’s an enormous advantage to have—and we haven’t had a president who could do that since Ronald Reagan.”

“At this point in time,” adds Aledo, “we can only hope for the counter-revolution to become stronger.”

It’s the Marxism, Not the Birtherism

By: Cliff Kincaid | Accuracy in Media

marxism

The Washington Post is not sloppy; it is dishonest. Forget Kenya or Hawaii as Barack Obama’s birthplace. The issue is that he was mentored by a communist named Frank Marshall Davis, who taught him that blacks had a “reason to hate” and that Christianity was the white man’s religion. Davis essentially raised Obama in Hawaii for seven years of his young life, when he was smoking dope in the “Choom Gang” and learning how to be a revolutionary. That’s why Obama left Hawaii to admittedly hang out with “Marxist professors.” Davis had taught him well.

The rest is history, except that the Post and other liberal media have sanitized history in order to conceal the Marxist nature of Obama’s proposed “fundamental transformation” of America.

In Obama’s book, Dreams from My Father, Davis was “Frank,” a mysterious figure with only a first name who had served as his mentor. Later, the identity of “Frank” was shown to be Davis by Trevor Loudon and Accuracy in Media. Davis had a 600-page FBI file and had been on the FBI’s Security Index for 19 years. That was the smoking gun in Obama’s life story, not the place where he was born. His birthplace was always a secondary issue.

The “birther” issue is now being used by Hillary Clinton, Michelle Obama and their media allies to get black people riled up. It’s part of their get-out-the-vote drive. Not surprisingly, the Post and other media play right along with it. They realize Obama has done little for black people. So they have to demonize Trump.

The Post’s Jenna Johnson reported on Friday afternoon that Hillary Clinton “said Trump owes Obama an apology for promoting a false theory about his birthplace. She did not directly address the Trump assertion that her own 2008 campaign promoted the same theory, but her current campaign flatly rejected that claim.”

This appeared under the headline, “Trump admits Obama was born in U.S., but falsely blames Clinton for starting rumors.”

Do you remember Johnson? She was the co-author of a Post story asserting that Trump was sexist for talking about whether Hillary was physically fit to be president. That story appeared one day before Hillary collapsed while leaving the 9/11 memorial in New York City.

One day it’s sexism, another day it’s racism.

Actually, Hillary Clinton’s 2008 campaign manager Patti Solis Doyle did admit that a Clinton staffer had spread the claim that Obama was born outside of the United States. Hillary did not personally apologize to Barack Obama for that. Yet now the cry is for Trump, who questioned the place of his birth, to personally apologize to Obama.

All of this is just racial politics. Hillary knows that most blacks are not as enthusiastic about her as they were for Obama. So she has to get them up in arms. On cue, the Congressional Black Caucus has called on Trump, not Hillary, to apologize. The group’s political action committee has already endorsed Hillary for president.

Obama should apologize to the American people for failing to tell us the truth, and nothing but the truth, about Frank Marshall Davis. First, he covered up the identity of “Frank.” Then, when the truth came out, his campaign said Davis was just a civil rights activist.

The Post still won’t tell the truth about the Obama-Davis relationship, eight years after we disclosed it, because the reporter they assigned to do the job was himself a red-diaper baby who had personal and family reasons to conceal the truth.

After Patti Solis Doyle admitted that a Clinton staffer had spread the claim that Obama was born outside of the United States, James Asher, the former McClatchy Washington Bureau Chief, claimed that Clinton aide and ally Sidney Blumenthal had told him about it. He said Blumenthal raised the issue with him “face to face.”

This is very significant. Blumenthal had also raised the Frank Marshall Davis issue during the 2008 campaign. That was never retracted because it was true. The media ignored it for that very reason. They didn’t want to sink Obama’s campaign for the presidency. They still don’t want to bring it up.

The “birther” issue is getting more traction, even though it’s mostly beside the point, because Hillary thinks she can exploit it politically.

Hillary ignores “Frank” now, for obvious reasons, because she needs Obama’s help with the blacks to get elected in November. Blumenthal has to know how damaging the “Frank” connection is to Obama because he cited our work on the subject in 2008. Today, however, Hillary Clinton needs Obama. So Davis is a non-issue.

Coming to her aid is Michelle Obama, saying, “There were those who questioned and continue to question for the past eight years, up through this very day, whether my husband was even born in this country. Well, during his time in office, I think Barack has answered those questions with the example he set by going high when they go low.”

He hasn’t answered the questions about “Frank” because the press corps has never asked.

Tell us all about “Frank,” Mr. President. Tell us about the meaning of your poem to Davis titled, “Pop,” which included strange lines about stains and smells on shorts.

There are indeed very important questions remaining about “where” this president came from. The “where” is not the physical place, but the psychological and mental space in Barack Obama’s young mind that was once filled with communist notions by Frank Marshall Davis. Everything that he has done politically can be explained by the Davis influence.

Even Blumenthal knew there was a story there. It is the cover-up that changed the course of American history and put the United States on the course to becoming a socialist state.

Obama’s foundation advises us that he has changed America, but that the work is not yet done. “As President Obama has said, the change we seek will take longer than one presidency,” the foundation tells us.

You ain’t seen nothing yet! Frank Marshall Davis lives on through Barack Hussein Obama.

Alt-Right Bashes Constitutional Conservatives, Patriots Ted Cruz and Ben Shapiro – Dances with Leninism

By: Terresa Monroe-Hamilton

Trump

I believe that each of us has a right to support our chosen candidate and that includes Donald Trump. I do not hold that against someone once they have made that decision, for any of a myriad of reasons. However, I do hold it against those that go out of their way to attack and savage patriotic conservatives because they will not kneel at the altar of Trump. Such is the poison written by Edmund Kozak on Laura Ingraham’s website entitled: “Alt-Right vs. Conservative Inc.

I have been a Ted Cruz supporter from the beginning. Even though he is no longer in this race, I still support him as the Constitutional Conservative we have waited for. I most likely will write him in when I vote. That is not a vote for Hillary Clinton. It is me voting my conscience, standing by my principles and refusing to vote for one evil to stop another. Two evils that I view as two sides of the same coin and equally repugnant.

I was told when I didn’t fall in line with Trump that my vote didn’t matter and wasn’t wanted. Now I’m told that if I don’t vote for Trump, it will be my fault that he loses and Hillary wins. That doesn’t sway me in the least. In my world, right is right and wrong is wrong. I won’t vote for a Fascist to stop a Marxist, especially when the two are interchangeable.

Kozak has written a piece that paints Constitutional Conservatives as the Establishment GOP Elite. Nothing could be further from the truth and he knows it:

In truth, it is the Establishment GOP elite — who profit in both power and dollars by pushing a globalist economic agenda — who have strayed farthest from the tenants of traditional conservatism. These elites have actually created a for-profit structure. This “Conservative Inc.” dupes the base of the party into handing more power and campaign cash to an Establishment network that operates primarily against their interests.

Constitutional Conservatives and patriots such as Ted Cruz and Ben Shapiro in no way support a globalist economic agenda. They are for free trade… perhaps that is something that seems foreign to the likes of Kozak. We are not protectionist as Trump is and there’s the rub. True conservatives believe the market should decide the economic outcome. Those that are true globalists are on the left and this is his attempt to smear conservatives and lump them in with not only the GOP Elite, but leftists as well, essentially branding them the enemy. You see, he has to do this as true conservatism and constitutionalism is a danger to the likes of Trump. We believe in our God-given rights and freedoms and we want the Constitution to be followed, just as we want the rule of law implemented. Nice try on branding, but fail.

The next part I am quoting is simply insane:

The Constitution worship of those like Shapiro and Sen. Ted Cruz reveals that the mainstream conservative movement has largely forgotten the principle of imperfectability.

The Constitution alone cannot guarantee some sort of political utopia. Man is fallen — a city on a shining hill cannot be guaranteed by a mere piece of paper. The fact that within a decade of the documents’ adoption the government was already trying to subvert it should be a clear indication of that reality.

None of us has ever claimed the Constitution was perfect. No document or man is. But the Founding Fathers made sure that could be rectified with Amendments. Whereas it does not create a political utopia, when the Constitution was adhered to, our country thrived and prospered. There have been those trying to subvert the Constitution from the beginning and who still are. Again, I was told that when I would not follow Trump, that Constitutional Conservatism was dead and the document was outdated. I was told that I would regret not following the man and it would destroy me. It hasn’t yet, but if it did, then so be it. My principles and freedom mean more to me than any strongman or his followers who threaten me. Kozak’s argument here is specious and utterly flawed. It is the justifications of someone laying the groundwork for a dictatorship.

It is not Constitutional Conservatives and the likes of Ted Cruz and Ben Shapiro who have lost their way. They aren’t lost period. It is the Alt-Right who has veered off to follow a leader who does not believe in the Constitution or freedom. A man who will rule with an iron grip, an enemies list and who will slam the lid down on this nation so hard it will shatter.

I believe that Donald Trump is a very dangerous man. And some of those around him may be just as dangerous or more so. Steve Bannon comes to mind. Bannon has claimed that he is a Leninist.

This is the definition of Leninism:

Leninism is the political theory for the democratic organisation of a revolutionary vanguard party and the achievement of a dictatorship of the proletariat, as political prelude to the establishment of socialism. Developed by and named for the Russian revolutionary Lenin, Leninism comprises socialist political and economic theories, developed from Marxism, and Lenin’s interpretations of Marxist theories, for practical application to the socio-political conditions of the agrarian Russian Empire of the early 20th century.

Ronald Radosh, a former communist turned conservative, had this to say about Steve Bannon:

Why has the Trump campaign taken as its new head a self-described Leninist?

I met Steve Bannon—the executive director of Breitbart.com who’s now become the chief executive of the Trump campaign, replacing the newly resigned Paul Manafort—at a book party held in his Capitol Hill townhouse in early 2014. We were standing next to a picture of his daughter, a West Point graduate, who at the time was a lieutenant in the 101 Airborne Division serving in Iraq. The picture was notable because she was sitting on what was once Saddam Hussein’s gold throne with a machine gun on her lap. “I’m very proud of her,” Bannon said.

Then we had a long talk about his approach to politics. He never called himself a “populist” or an “American nationalist,” as so many think of him today. “I’m a Leninist,” Bannon proudly proclaimed.

Shocked, I asked him what he meant.

“Lenin,” he answered, “wanted to destroy the state, and that’s my goal too. I want to bring everything crashing down, and destroy all of today’s establishment.” Bannon was employing Lenin’s strategy for Tea Party populist goals. He included in that group the Republican and Democratic Parties, as well as the traditional conservative press.

This is the man who now basically has Trump’s ear and this is what he proclaims and supports. That’s chaos and it is just moonbat crazy. Add that to Russian influence, shady dealings, vile attacks and unconstitutional leanings and you have the makings of a South-American style strongman.

Nationalist populism is not the answer… it is a death knell for this country, just as liberal Marxism is. The only thing that will save the Republic and our country is to return to what made us great in the first place: faith in God, the Constitution, founding principles, limited government and our God-given rights. No one man can save us or solve this and to turn to one is suicide.

The Founding Fathers were brilliant men who sacrificed everything for this country and to ensure our freedoms. The Constitution is a foundational document that has served us well for 240 years. These people keep trying to fix something that is not broken to serve their own political agenda. We don’t worship the Constitution… we revere it and believe that it is the answer to righting this country. The answer certainly isn’t a strongman, nor is it a federal leviathan government.

I’m proud to be a Constitutional Conservative and if one day that has me labeled as a traitor and tried for being a patriot, I will make sure they have enough to convict me.

How to Make America Great Again

By: Cliff Kincaid | Accuracy in Media

052616_COM_JC_689.jpg

It is sign of the times that when people are told that Harvard was founded by a Puritan minister and dedicated to Christ and His Church, most react by wondering if this can actually be true. The reaction is evidence that Cultural Marxism has almost succeeded in eradicating the facts about the Christian roots of American education.

During her 2016 commencement address, however, Harvard President Drew Faust referred to gathering near Harvard’s Memorial Church, one of those “enduring symbols of Harvard’s larger identity and purposes, testaments to what universities do and believe at a time when we have never needed them more.” She added, “And much is at stake, for us and for the world.”

This was an extraordinary statement of historical accuracy. What’s more, she went on to tell the graduates that values should be a major influence in their daily lives.

She said, “For this morning’s ceremony I wore the traditional Harvard presidential robe—styled on the garment of a Puritan minister and reminding us of Harvard’s origins. Values were an integral part of the defining purpose of the early years of Harvard College, created to educate a learned ministry.”

It’s rarely mentioned these days, but the official website declares that “Memorial Church of Harvard University is a space of grace in the center of the Yard, rooted in the good news of Jesus Christ.” In fact, Harvard itself was rooted in that good news.

The real history of Harvard and other colleges is seldom mentioned in the new, modern, and secular America that we have today. But I went to my bookshelf for a copy of Vaughn Shatzer’s 1999 book, History of American Education, which tells the almost forgotten story of how Harvard and other colleges, including Princeton, Yale, William and Mary, Rutgers, and even Columbia, were based on a Christian worldview.

The facts in this small, 127-page book are not only important but politically relevant today, as Shatzer devotes a section to Hillary Rodham Clinton’s involvement in the federal takeover of America’s schools. That effort today is known as Common Core.

Going back in history, Shatzer writes, “Many of our Founding Fathers such as John Adams, John Hancock, Samuel Adams, and Fisher Ames attended Harvard. Amazingly, Fisher Ames, who proposed wording for the First Amendment, entered Harvard at age twelve.”

“Of the first 126 colleges formed in America,” he notes, “all but three were formed on Christian principles. Up until 1900 it was very rare to find a university president who was not an ordained clergyman.”

Is the pendulum now swinging away from Cultural Marxism and back toward America’s founding principles?

Referring to Widener Library and Memorial Church, Harvard President Faust said, “we need the qualities that both represent, because I believe that reason and knowledge must be inflected with values, and that those of us who are privileged to be part of this community of learning bear consequent responsibilities.”

She continued, “Up until the end of the 1800s, most American college presidents taught a course on moral philosophy to graduating students. But with the rise of the research university in the late nineteenth and the early twentieth century, moral and ethical purposes came to be seen as at odds with the scientific thinking transforming higher education.”

She added, “But in today’s world, I believe it is dangerous for universities not to fully acknowledge and embrace their responsibilities to values and to service as well as to reason and discovery. There is no value-free science. There is no algorithm that writes itself. The questions we choose to ask and the research we decide to support; the standards of integrity we expect of our colleagues and students; the community we build and the model we offer: All of this is central to who we are.”

The issue of “who we are” has to consider the Founding Fathers and who they were, and why America was so successful for so long.

Shatzer’s book looks at many of the Founding Fathers. However, one of them, Thomas Jefferson, is particularly fascinating because today he is regarded as having been a proponent of the “separation of church and state.” In fact, while president he was chairman of the school board of the District of Columbia. One of the principal textbooks was the Bible. Jefferson hired clergy to teach classes.

He founded the University of Virginia in 1817 and its official motto was a Bible verse, John 8:32, “And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” The scripture was also inscribed on the walls inside the Rotunda.

It may not be Harvard President Faust’s intention to return the American educational system back to its original Christian values. But in order to truly make America great again, the “values” she talks about have to be given their true meaning within the context of American society at large.

She concluded her address by saying, “Reason and responsibility. Widener and Memorial Church. Harvard and the world. We have a very special obligation in a very difficult time. May we and the students we send forth today embrace it.”

Her speech is a good first step, but can these brick and mortar colleges and universities be saved?  Or have they been so corrupted that the real solution lies in an educational revolution that transfers learning to less expensive and mostly online institutions such as Amberton University, a nondenominational Christian institution? That university proclaims that its Christian commitment “does recognize its unique role in education and believes that the principles of Christianity and academic excellence run parallel, not perpendicular.”

Isn’t that what the Founders had in mind?

America Takes the “Barack Walk” on the Wild Side

By: Cliff Kincaid | Accuracy in Media

Barack Obama

“America seems to be stuck in the toilet,” says Alveda King, commenting on the Obama administration’s war with North Carolina over sexually confused people getting access to the bathrooms of their choice. The pro-life leader notes that while there are real problems the administration could tackle, it has instead decided that access to public bathrooms by a new sexual minority has suddenly become a high priority under federal civil rights laws. As a result, the country is “headed for disaster,” King says.

This is not an accident. Cultural Marxism, the subject of the new book, The Devil’s Pleasure Palace, explains the grip that this fanatical ideology has on so many elites in America today. If you doubt how pervasive this has become, watch or read the remarks of Attorney General Loretta Lynch on how transgenderism has suddenly become the wave of the future. Describing the North Carolina bathroom bill, which restricts restroom access by objective measures of DNA and biology, Lynch said, “This is not the first time that we have seen discriminatory responses to historic moments of progress for our nation.”

She added, “This action is about a great deal more than just bathrooms. This is about the dignity and respect we accord our fellow citizens and the laws that we, as a people and as a country, have enacted to protect them—indeed, to protect all of us. And it’s about the founding ideals that have led this country—haltingly but inexorably—in the direction of fairness, inclusion and equality for all Americans.”

Pope’s Marxist Bias in U.S. Campaign Signals New Global Order

Not only was socialist Senator Bernie Sanders (I-VT) invited to a conferenceof the Pontifical Academy of Social Sciences (PASS) on Catholic social teaching and the world situation, he also met personally with Pope Francis.

A secular Jewish atheist, Sanders is not even a member of the Catholic Church. “I am not actively involved with organized religion,” Sanders has said. His brother Larry says, “He is quite substantially not religious.”

Instead, he is a socialist with strong ties, if not membership in, the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA), the same group that backed Barack Obama’s run for president in 2008 and is the U.S. affiliate of the Socialist International.

His involvement in the Vatican conference demonstrates how Pope Francis is moving the Roman Catholic Church into the global socialist camp.
