As a retired police officer, add my name to the list of those who believe the nation would be better off if most drugs listed as illegal were to be legal. The price of drugs would dramatically drop, those who are going to use them will not have to rob as many folks or break into as many houses, steal as many cars and so on to pay for their addiction. The money wasted on attempting to contain the drug distribution networks could be used for other areas of law enforcement. Add one last tid bit, let the states sell the drugs just like some do with liquor; provide quality control and another product tax item like cigs or liquor. Just a few thoughts…
