U.S. Senate Candidate Danny Tarkanian issued the following statement in response to the recent stories about former ACORN official Christopher Edwards’ guilty plea revealing the “Blackjack” scheme in Las Vegas that allegedly paid ACORN workers bonuses to recruit more potential voters:

“It’s questionable as to how willing Sen. Reid has been to stop funding from flowing to corrupt groups like ACORN. Although he has voted several times in the last month to stop certain federal funds from being distributed to ACORN, he wasn’t opposed to allowing stimulus funds from the Recovery Act to be allocated to them. He led the vote against prohibiting stimulus funds from going to ACORN in February. Just where does he stand with ACORN?

Perhaps he is trying to make sure they’ll have enough funding to run a new operation “Full House” in Vegas next year. Maybe even in the 22nd and 9th Congressional Districts, where his phantom stimulus money and jobs have gone…”
