During a very rare double-segment interview with President Obama last evening, Steve Kroft proved, beyond a shadow of a doubt, that he is no longer a contributing “Journalist” for CBS “60 Minutes;” instead, he is now a lovable, grandfatherly “cast member,” who has a true talent for “shared-script” political “coffee klatch” on camera.

It is well-known in the mainstream media that President Barack Obama “highly respects” Kroft’s “interview style,” which has led to his unprecedented “access” to the president, since Obama first hit the national political stage.

However, now, in Obama’s third year as President, fully 75 percent of American’s believe the country is going in the wrong direction, 54 percent saying he does not deserve a second term, mainly because of a perpetually stagnant unemployment rate frozen at our above 9 percent since his inauguration.

Therefore, his re-election prospects are at best a long shot.

It was clear to President Obama’s “handlers” in Chicago that he desperately needed an unprecedented opportunity to make his case for a second term, directly to the American people, and disguised in the best possible way–an interview by his “old buddy,” Steve Kroft, on CBS iconic 60 Minutes TV show.

When called upon, Steve Kroft bravely agreed to “take one for the [Democrat] team,” by shamelessly casting aside his investigative-journalism skills, which had earned him three Peabody’s and nine Emmy’s, over his nearly 40 year TV career. He then focused his finely-honed television illusion skills and used the 60 Minutes media machine, to choreograph a cheerful, chortling campaign infomercial for the “Campaigner-in-Chief.”

In a faultless display of what trial attorneys would object to as “Leading the Witness,” Kroft comfortably crafted extraordinary leading questions, providing facts and figures, so as to leave Obama with nothing to do but answer back with short, easy to remember glib analogies and bumper-sticker narratives, aimed at deflecting all blame away from himself–and on to the Democrats latest target…”the wealthy.”

Then, President Obama continued, unchallenged by his good friend Steve, delivering one campaign soliloquy after another, as recorded in Michael Memoli’s L.A. Times article today…

“We’ve gone through an incredibly difficult time in this country. And, I would be surprised if the American people felt satisfied right now. They shouldn’t feel satisfied. We’ve got a lot more work to do in order to get this country and the economy moving in a way that benefits everybody, as opposed to just a few.”

As to an ‘economy benefiting everyone versus the few’, do you suppose President Obama means not protecting the $75 million dollar investment in Solyndra Solar, made by one of his big time Democrat campaign contribution “bundlers,” like George Kaiser–by having the Energy Department re-finance their $535 million loan to the company (just months before it would suddenly close and file bankruptcy), and put U.S. taxpayers behind Kaiser in line to collect?

We’ll likely never know, because his friend Steve didn’t ask him…

Just so the written transcript of this so-called interview would “seem” hard-hitting, from a historical archive perspective, Kroft did borrow a thought from the other [Republican] political half of the country, when he pointed out the criticism generated by Obama’s “train-stop speech” last week in Osawatomie, Kansas, where he is accused of setting up “class warfare” and “income re-distribution” as populist “planks” for his re-election campaign.

To which Obama replied…

“The problem is, is that our politics has gotten to the point where we can’t have an honest conversation about the greatest income inequality since the 1920s, and we can’t have an honest conversation about the irresponsibility that resulted in the worst financial crisis since the ‘Great Depression’, without somebody saying that somehow we’re being divisive. No, we’re being honest about what happened, and we’ve got to be honest about how we move forward.

Regarding the conversation ‘about the irresponsibility that resulted in the financial crisis’, it is well-known in most corners of Washington, D.C., on Wall Street, and in many Republican households (thanks to FOXNews), that this disaster originated in the new bank regulations promulgated by President Bill Clinton, under the “Community Reinvestment Act,” which forced banks to make mortgages to low income people, in low income neighborhoods.

This in turn gave rise to the “Sub-Prime Mortgage” market–with the government, via the stewardship of Sen. Chris Dodd (D-CT) and Rep. Barney Frank (D-MA), mandated Fannie and Freddie to “buy these mortgages” into their portfolios.

The bottom line is that the financial crisis is the direct result of the implementation of the Liberal Democrat socialist agenda. It is not divisive; it is simply fact; which, the mainstream media has been careful to keep from their half of the viewing public.

As Presidential Sen. Barack Obama (D-IL) made a now famous promise to voters … ‘if I don’t fix the economy by the end of my third year in office–I will be a one-term president,” so he will become in November 2012.

However, there remains just a single question … was it a bad idea for Steve Kroft and 60 Minutes to sacrifice their professional integrity to become bedfellows with, and support, who is already considered the worst president in the history of the United States?
