Trouble Right Here in River City

By: T F Stern
T F Stern’s Rantings

Somebody must have put in a pool table, look at all the trouble we’re in now. Heck, it’s gotten so’s a body can’t offer up a proper prayer or teach school without raisin’ up a ruckus.

That Music Man feller’ passing through warned us about having a pool table; should’ve listened to him. Look what’s happened to our country; ever since our youth have been “Fritterin’ away their noontime, suppertime, choretime, to Hit the ball in the pocket.” Instead of pulling weeds from the garden or patching the screen door, you’ll have, “young ones peekin’ in the pool hall window after school.” Yes Sir, somebody must have put in a pool table.

“Ya got trouble, folks, right here in River City
with a capital ‘T’
and that rhymes with ‘P’
and that stands for ‘pool’.”

Ya’ don’t believe me? Take a look at what happened when somebody prayed during a session of congress, offered a blessing in the name of our Savior over in North Carolina.

“A North Carolina pastor was relieved of his duties as an honorary chaplain of the state house of representatives after he closed a prayer by invoking the name of Jesus…He had been invited to lead prayer for an entire week but his tenure was cut short when he refused to remove the name Jesus from his invocation.”

I suppose there might be some folks attending sessions of congress who’d feel uncomfortable or offended hearing the name of Jesus. Satan has plenty of his followers passing legislation these days.

The University of Illinois fired a professor, one assigned to teach Introduction to Catholicism and Modern Catholic Thought. Professor Ken Howell, a Catholic, was fired for teaching the tenets of the Catholic Church, that homosexuality was/is immoral and then added he believed that was correct doctrine, An unidentified student complained to the administration, considered Professor Howell’s added opinion “hate speech.” Howell had emailed all his students to help prepare them for an upcoming test, “teaching his students about the Catholic understanding of natural moral law.”

“Teaching a student about the tenets of a religion is one thing,” the student wrote. “Declaring that homosexual acts violate the natural laws of man is another.”

Many students have fragile emotions and are unprepared for interacting in the world where he/she might have to face the fact that not everyone has the same beliefs or set of core values; but, Ann Mester, an associate dean at the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, said Howell’s e-mail justified his firing.”

How do you get to be an associate dean of the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences without having a functional brain? Perhaps, just perhaps, someone should check under Ann Mester’s fingernails for telltale signs of pool table lint or traces of cue stick chalk.

“Friends, the idle brain is the devil’s playground, trouble!

Oh, we got trouble
Right here in River City
Right here in River City
With a capital ‘T’ and that rhymes with ‘P’ and that stands for ‘pool’
That stands for pool
We surely got trouble
We surely got trouble
Right here in River City
Right here

Gotta figure out a way to keep the young ones
moral after school.”

There are folks who can’t stand the fact that “In God We Trust” is printed on our money, emblazoned on 30% of Indiana state license plates or placed in many classrooms of public schools. The mystical separation of church and state is the penumbra used to assault the mention of religion in public, something which is not in the constitution; but which the Supreme Court declared must be in there somewhere because Thomas Jefferson wrote the line in a letter.

“In Indiana, the American Civil Liberties Union is waging a legal battle over the state’s “In God We Trust” license plates, which now appear on over one third of all passenger cars statewide since its introduction at the beginning of this year, according to the state’s Bureau of Motor Vehicles.”

If you read the historical background regarding “In God We Trust,” the record would lead back to 1864 when it first was stamped on the two cent coin. It has since been added to other coinage and printed money.

Our National Anthem, The Star Spangled Banner, is the result of a poem written in 1814 by Francis Scott Key, “Defence of Fort McHenry.” The words “And this be our motto, In God is our trust” are plain to see and yet many folks claim the phrase is a modern contrivance signed into law on July 30, 1956 by then President, Dwight D. Eisenhower. Separation of church and state is the contrivance, an attempt to rewrite our Creator out of American history.

“Remember the Maine, Plymouth Rock and the Golden Rule?
Oho, we got trouble
We’re in terrible, terrible trouble
That game with the fifteen numbered balls is the devil’s tool
Devil’s tool
Yes, we’ve got trouble, trouble, trouble
Oh, yes, we got trouble here, we got big, big trouble…
…with a capital ‘T’ and that rhymes with ‘P’ and that stands for ‘pool’!”

Yes, Sir, somebody’s putting pool tables in towns across this land, corrupting our youth for several generations. We’ve reached the point where closing a prayer in the name of Jesus Christ is cause for dismissal, teaching basic Christian principles is a “hate crime” and “In God We Trust” is offensive; that’s my two cents worth!

CHANGE YOU CAN BELIEVE…

By: AJ

Aggressive Move to Eliminate Jobs, De-Industrialize the U.S., and Change Our Way of Life

According to the Center for American Progress (CAP), they are working closely with President Obama to ensure that the “EPA regime” will enact Cap and Trade if the Senate does not pass the bill. The President and CAP’s aggressive goal is to drastically reduce and ultimately eliminate the use of fossil fuels, coal (including “clean” coal), and tar sands oil in the U.S. by making them far too expensive for individuals, families and businesses to afford.

In addition, CAP reveals that their Cap and Trade scheme will institute “a shrinking cap on carbon from transportation fuels.” What that means is each year they will lower the cap on carbon emissions to make it increasingly more expensive and ultimately impossible for businesses to operate in this country and it will certainly make energy too expensive for Americans.

This is consistent with President Obama’s statement in January 2008 during his presidential campaign when he said, “Under my plan of a Cap and Trade system, electricity rates would necessarily skyrocket.”

It’s also consistent with President Obama’s statement, “So if somebody wants to build a coal power plant they can, it’s just that it will bankrupt them.”

For readers who turn on a light switch, take a warm shower, drive a car, or who know anyone who uses energy or works in the energy industry, you’ll want to read on to learn what Barack Obama and the Progressive CAP organization are doing.

At CAP’s June 10, 2010 Keynote Speech for Canada 2020’s “’Greening’ The Oil Sands,” John Podesta, the CEO of CAP, revealed Barack Obama’s plans and progress:

“The Obama administration has already taken aggressive executive actions in support of clean energy… The EPA’s decision sent a strong message to opponents of climate legislation in Senate: The alternative to passing strong legislation is not the status quo, but rather an EPA regime to regulate CO2 emissions. If the U.S. Senate fails to act on climate change legislation this summer, perhaps with a carbon-based linked fee on the transportation sector, the EPA will be tasked with doing the job.”

According to CAP, tar sands, clean coal and drilling simply aren’t for us… They’re more “public relations” than reality. John Podesta states, “Oil extraction from tar sands is polluting, destructive, expensive and energy intensive. These things are facts. I think suggesting this process can come close to approximating being “greened” is largely misleading, or far too optimistic, or perhaps both. It stands alongside clean coal and error-free deepwater drilling as more PR than reality.” Notice he mentions deepwater rather than land-based drilling?

John Podesta also said, “If developed countries need to reduce CO2 emissions by 80 percent by 2050, setting a goal of lowering oil sands emissions to come into line with conventional oil production is the wrong goal. The arrow is pointing in the wrong direction. Oil sands can’t simply be as good as conventional oil. We need to reduce fossil fuel use and accelerate the transition to cleaner technologies, in the transportation sector and elsewhere.”

Tens of billions of taxpayer dollars have been dumped into solar, wind, you name it. Where has that gotten us? Deeper in debt and still no feasible alternative energy source, let alone an infrastructure for this phantom energy source that we’d be forced to transition to. If anyone had a feasible, viable and sustainable clean energy source that can meet the needs of the U.S. they would step forward. Surely they would become the wealthiest person on the planet. The reason John Podesta and Barack Obama cannot show us the clean technologies we’ll be transitioning to is because they do not exist.

John Podesta and Joel Rogers are Directors of the Apollo Alliance. Let’s hear what Joel Rogers says about reducing CO2 emissions by 80 percent by 2050…

Rogers starts at 38 seconds into the video.

Joel Rogers says that you could bring the U.S. economy to a complete halt – eliminate all means of production and transportation – and yet you still won’t reduce CO2 emissions by 80%.

Does it seem that the Center for American Progress (CAP), the Apollo Alliance, the Progressives and Barack Obama want to de-industrialize our nation and transform the U.S. into something along the lines of a third world country? There’s simply no other explanation for their plans and actions.

Is it reasonable to place an intensely high price on all energy use to the point of making it unaffordable? Keep in mind that all the extra money they will be collecting from you and everyone else in this country will go into their pockets via the kind of “exchange” scheme Enron created, and we all know how that ended.

Who will get all of that money? Barack Obama, Franklin Raines, Al Gore, George Soros, Joel Rogers, John Podesta, Goldman Sachs (the Progressives’ new best friend), Van Jones and others. Oh, they’ll tell you it’s going toward development of some type of clean energy we can all look forward to someday, but, like the hundreds of billions of unaccounted for stimulus funds, you will have no visibility into where the money went.

Just as businesses have left California because the state is hostile to them through massive government mandates and regulations that businesses cannot afford, so too will businesses leave America who cannot afford Barack Obama’s Cap and Trade scheme. Just as the oil rigs will leave and head to Brazil where George Soros has made a hefty investment that will pay off handsomely.

Americans know that the U.S. possesses more oil than Saudi Arabia, right here in our own great country: http://energy.cr.usgs.gov/oilgas/noga/. We can become fully energy-independent, but those we elect into office again and again push us farther and farther offshore. Our “career politicians” will not allow us to become energy-independent. Dependency is the name of the game and it’s what keeps these politicians in power.

Can you imagine all the jobs that would be created if we were permitted to expand our energy industry in the U.S.? Newer, safer and state-of-the-art technologies and methods have been developed that enable us to safely and cleanly harvest these resources – not hundreds of miles offshore, right here on U.S. soil, most of which is federally owned land that belongs to Americans – yet the politicians we elect prevent us from doing so.

It’s incomprehensible that the politicians we voted for – to represent us – would be on a mission to destroy our very way of life. Right about now you’re probably saying, “They can’t do that!” But they say, “YES WE CAN!”

This is change you can believe. It’s real, it’s happening and now you know where our country is headed. John Podesta stated clearly that they WILL enact the Cap and Trade scheme and he laid out their plan in his CAP keynote speech.

Let’s go back in time for just a minute… back to our 5th grade classrooms where we all learned what happens to living things when they’re exposed to too much CO2. Seeing is believing…

Perhaps John Podesta, Barack Obama and other Progressives skipped the 5th grade.

While they would have us believe that we are all-powerful and everything we do affects our planet, consider for a moment…

The Earth is about 4.54 BILLION years old. Humans (Homo Sapiens) have populated the Earth for only about 200,000 years, and the industrial revolution began just 200 years ago. When you consider all that the Earth has encountered for BILLIONS of years before humans even arrived, it really helps put things into perspective. Only arrogance drives humans to believe they can control the Earth. And if you haven’t heard about ClimateGate, please read up on it.

In conclusion, Barack Obama has already begun his aggressive move AGAINST energy for America. Barack Obama will usurp the authority of the Senate. He is also using the disaster in the Gulf of Mexico to impede ongoing drilling which threatens about 150,000 jobs and will impact every American very soon.

One wonders why a President of the United States of America, elected by and for the people, would want to hurt every individual, family and business in this country.

And where is the mainstream media?! Where are the journalists?! Silent as always when it concerns what Barack Obama is really doing.

Financial News Update – 07/09/2010

From Politico:

Attorney General Eric Holder signaled that the Justice Department may be conducting a sweeping criminal investigation into the Gulf Coast oil spill, saying that its suspected targets may cover more than just BP. “There are a variety of entities and a variety of people who are the subjects of that investigation,” Holder told CBS’s Bob Schieffer at the Aspen Ideas Festival in Colorado. “For people to conclude that BP is the focus of this investigation might not be correct.” Saying the investigation was “ongoing,” Holder added that there has been a “certain commonality of the way oil companies had been operating” in the Gulf.
