Has Facebook Joined The Leftist Media?

The advent of ‘social media’ has been heralded as a new, unbiased forum where ideology, politics and opinions are able to compete on a level playing field. From talk radio to social networking sites like Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and MySpace, these forums are generally assumed to reflect the true voice of their subscribers – untainted by the liberal bias of the ‘old’ media. There is a chance this is now changing. And here’s why:

As the editor of a conservative news site who has posted articles on Facebook for over 8 years, I was suddenly stopped in my tracks December 31, 2012, when I tried to post an article by a well known author, Star Parker, entitled Blacks Should Embrace NRA Gun Proposal. I was unable to post it.

“Dear Nancy, Your Facebook account was recently logged into from a computer, mobile device or other location you’ve never used before. For your protection, we’ve temporarily locked your account until you can….”

On January 10, 2013:

“Your account is temporarily locked. Someone recently tried to log into your account from an unrecognized device or location. Please verify if it was you who tried to log in.”

On January 12, 2013:

“You cannot use this password. Please try another password.”

These password and login issues could be legitimate. However, I have used the same computer and password on Facebook for years now. Who knows, maybe Rightbias.com was hacked and Facebook was protecting our site. That’s entirely possible.

What raised a red flag for me, however, is the fact that I have recently come across numerous other pro-gun writers who have encountered the same ‘security concerns’ from Facebook.

Facebook Purges Pro-Gun Accounts:

Facebook Inc. is purging accounts that carry pro-second amendment and pro-liberty information in a censorship purge that has accelerated over the past few hours, with innumerable pages being disappeared merely for posting legitimate political content.

After two weeks and numerous hours spent going through gyrations demanded by Facebook, my conservative news site was finally able to, once again, return to posting articles on Facebook. It only took two weeks. My inability to post a pro-gun article could have just been a coincidence.

Strangely enough, at the same time Facebook was encountering ‘security glitches’ (from mostly pro-gun posters), it appears that elitist and avowed leftist George Soros, spent around $10.6M buying 341,000 shares in Facebook. Another coincidence?

On January 14, Soros made clear his anti-gun agenda under the guise of a ‘study,’ which was accepted as legitimate by our leftist media. It was published by Soros controlled ‘Center For American Progress.’

Soros Group Calls For Sweeping New Gun Laws:

With President Obama readying an overhaul of the nation’s gun laws, a liberal think tank with singular influence throughout his administration is pushing for a sweeping agenda of strict new restrictions on and federal oversight of gun and ammunition sales.

Gun control is now a hotly debated issue in America. Opinions from both sides are flooding social networking sites like Facebook. While most Americans understand that our media tilts left, what they don’t understand is that being denied access to opposing views is an extremely effective tactic of our leftist media.

Is it possible that Facebook has taken sides? Is it possible that Facebook is advancing and advocating a particular agenda which, coincidentially, is the same agenda of their major new investor? It appears quite a few on the right think so, and they’re fighting back.

A group of conservatives is launching their own social networking site after enduring what they call years of censorship and liberal bullying on Facebook. The Tea Party Community is expected to officially launch on Saturday – but the social networking site for conservatives has already drawn nearly 50,000 members.

No matter how thin the pancake, there are always two sides. Though it’s not in the constitution, I believe that Americans should have the right to enough information in order to make informed decisions. I find the numerous coincidences I’ve outlined above are, at the very least, cause for concern.

America is (still) a capitalist country. Profit is not a dirty word. Companies remain in busines in order to make a profit. As such, Facebook is entitled to allow what ever posts it desires. My concern is that the possiblity exists that Facebook has taken sides in the gun debate. And they are being disingenuous about it.

There is a very real possibility that Facebook is lying to subscribers in order to limit opposing points of view, apparently, in this author’s view, to advance and advocate a particular agenda which, coincidentially, is the same agenda of their major new investor.

I wonder how many other Facebook shareholders are aware of the fact that the company they have invested in could now be being used as a tool in the leftist campaign to dis-arm our country. And I wonder if they agree.

Congress Fails to Act Against Gore’s Terror TV Deal

It is fun to watch Big Oil critic Al Gore squirm as he is questioned about selling out to the oil-rich dictatorship in Qatar. But his sale of Current TV to Al Jazeera is not a laughing matter. This transaction is a homeland security threat that violates numerous U.S. laws.

To his credit, funnyman David Letterman got close to the truth when he asked the former Democratic vice-president, “Now why do we think of Al Jazeera as something not right going on there in terms of, in terms of the good for Americans? Why do we think that they may be propaganda for Muslim violence and terrorism?”

“Well, it’s certainly not,” Gore replied. “And many years ago it put some videos on in the Arabic version that I think were misinterpreted, but the Al Jazeera English and now Al Jazeera America [are] really high quality stuff. They’re very widely respected, and people see for themselves. And, by the way, their climate coverage is higher quality and more extensive than any network on TV now in the U.S.”

Gore’s answer to Letterman shows that he is not being honest with those concerned about the deal. If Gore will lie to protect his $100 million payoff from the Arab dictatorship in Qatar, a major oil and gas producer, what else will he lie about? Global warming?

First, the “misinterpreted” videos were from Osama bin Laden—and al Qaeda, which is still trying to kill us. There is nothing to misinterpret. Paul L. Williams, author of the new book, Crescent Moon Rising points out that, during Operation Enduring Freedom, the official name for the war in Afghanistan, “All the tapes from al Qaeda were aired on Al Jazeera to inflame the Arab world. They added all that fuel so that our troops would be killed.” Al Jazeera’s correspondent in Afghanistan, who interviewed bin Laden, was sent to prison for being an agent of al Qaeda.

In Iraq, after the American invasion, the same thing occurred. Al Jazeera’s first managing director was exposed as an agent of the Saddam Hussein regime and the channel promoted the anti-American insurgency. The coverage inspired foreign Jihadists to come to Iraq to kill American soldiers, as captured terrorists acknowledged in interviews.

The new film, “Zero Dark Thirty,” mentions that the courier who eventually led the CIA to bin Laden was located in Pakistan near an Al Jazeera office in order to get the terrorist leader’s videotapes to the channel for worldwide distribution. This was no accident. The collaboration between Al Jazeera and al Qaeda continues to the present day. The channel has interviewed almost every major al Qaeda leader, including Anwar Al-Awlaki, who inspired the Ft. Hood massacre through his contacts with Muslim Army soldier Nidal Hasan. Al-Awlaki was also linked to the attempted bombing in the U.S. on Christmas Day by radical Muslim Umar Farouk.

Second, despite what Al Gore implies, the Arabic and English versions of Al Jazeera are paid for by the same dictatorship. Even Hillary Clinton’s State Department admits that, adding that Qatar controls the news policies and personnel of the channel.

Gore was on Letterman promoting his new book, The Future, which was obviously written before his deal with Al Jazeera was finalized. This is why his mentions of Al Jazeera in the book are so important. He refers to Al Jazeera in the book as the “relatively independent” network that played a role in the so-called “Arab spring.”

It is interesting that this “relatively independent” network has now become “very highly-respected,” as he claimed on Letterman.

It’s apparent that Gore is talking about the channel in glowing terms in order to justify his receipt of $100 million from the $500 million deal. Gore doesn’t want to admit the truth because then he would be exposed for selling Current TV to Al Jazeera not only for “dirty” oil money, but also for blood money. The American blood on the hands of Al Jazeera is real.

Every time that you see a wounded member of the American military, or attend a service for those who died defending America, there is the distinct possibility that the death and destruction was carried out by Jihadists egged on by Al Jazeera.

In terms of Al Jazeera’s news coverage, praised by Al Gore on Letterman and the NBC Today Show, my associate and friend Jerry Kenney, an independent television producer, tells me, “He talked about how many awards Al Jazeera has been given. That is no surprise to me. The arsonist is always the first to see the fire. Al Jazeera lights it and then reports it.”

This is a very serious matter. If Al Jazeera reaches English-speaking Arabs and Muslims in the U.S. with its incendiary messages, we could see suicide bombings on the streets of America and the development of more al Qaeda cells plotting 9/11-type terrorist attacks. The purpose of “Al Jazeera America” is to reach English-speaking Muslims who don’t speak Arabic with inflammatory words and images making America out to be the enemy and villain in the Middle East.

Nidal Hasan is an example of what could happen. He did not speak Arabic well but communicated with Anwar Al-Awlaki, the English-speaking al-Qaeda leader who was born in the U.S. but operated out of Yemen, ordering and directing mass murder in America. He used the Internet but also praised Al Jazeera journalists by name in a “Message to the Media.”

Recognizing the danger, President Barack Obama was urged by U.S. intelligence agencies to order the murder of Al-Awlaki through a drone strike. Al-Awlaki was killed, but Al Jazeera, his favorite television channel, is very much alive and now, thanks to Al Gore, establishing a permanent base on U.S. soil, possibly reaching 40-50 million homes.

Despite this looming threat and questions about the legality of the purchase, conservative members of Congress are silent. In the House, supposedly under Republican control, an aide to Rep. Michael McCaul, newly appointed chairman of the House Homeland Security Committee, says he does not want the “agenda” of the committee driven by the hundreds of Americans calling his office at 202-226-8417 and requesting an investigation of Al Jazeera’s terrorist ties.

Instead, McCaul recently posed for pictures with various Democrats at the Port of Houston after a bipartisan briefing on security measures at the facility. He issued a statement saying, “It wasn’t too long ago in Abbottabad they found documents from bin Laden indicating he wanted to target oil tankers, and that puts this port at risk.”

This is true and port security is a legitimate area of inquiry. But we also know that those bin Laden documents, according to CNN’s Peter Bergen, included a plan to “craft the perfect media message” on the 10th anniversary of the September 11 attacks by urging contacts between al Qaeda and Al Jazeera.

The terrorist leader said al Qaeda should contact the correspondents of Al Jazeera Arabic and English “and tell them that we are willing to cooperate with them in the area of covering the tenth anniversary by answering any questions that you think the public is interested in.”

So it was apparent, from the leader of this terrorist group, that both Al Jazeera Arabic and Al Jazeera English were considered outlets for al-Qaeda propaganda messages.

There is no reason to believe the new Al Jazeera America will be any different. And the inevitable result will be more cases of terrorist violence and murder on American soil.

A hearing into this deal would make things difficult for McCaul and other Republicans who want to pursue a bipartisan agenda and do not want to irritate Obama and the Democrats. The co-owners of Current TV, Al Gore and Joel Hyatt, are prominent Democrats, and another investor in the company, Richard Blum, is the husband of Democratic Senator Dianne Feinstein. Selling their Current TV to Al Jazeera is somewhat comparable to turning over American broadcast facilities during World War II to Tokyo Rose and Axis Sally, the propagandists for the German and Japanese enemies. They were prosecuted and convicted for treason for broadcasting their propaganda against America from overseas.

Plus, hearings will surely annoy Republican Senator John McCain, who joined Hillary Clinton in praising Al Jazeera in 2011.

But investigating Al Jazeera is the right thing to do and a necessary component of homeland security. After all, members of Congress do swear an oath to “support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic…”

Why don’t they do their jobs?

Marxist President’s Military Exercises in These U.S. Cities; Yours One?

All these unprecedented military exercises in our urban areas, are they even legal?*

Someone like you and me, a concerned (sovereign) citizen of the USA, took the bull by the horns to collect and collate the published accounts of them.

They are so pervasive that it looks less and less like training exercises for the purpose of letting our military become familiar with operating in urban areas overseas. It has begun, by the signature of the behaviors themselves, to seem more and more like exercises for the following purposes.

To:

  1. Make actual military operations within the United States seem more “normal” to our own, patriotically motivated military personnel.
  2. Record the names of those in military or police services, or in other government positions, who question this behavior, or who are noted to have qualms, or object vs. those who are gung-ho for it. Perform profiling and psychographic studies, based upon this information.
  3. Familiarize our military of the ins and outs of operations specific to each “urban zone” city in our nation.
  4. Condition American citizens of all kinds to the “new normal” of our military operating for the sake of authoritarian government, against our people (especially patriot activists) who may be labeled “suspected terrorists” – by fiat, without our 4th and 14th Amendment rights, of protection against unreasonable search and seizure, of habeas corpus, and due process overall (see NDAA 2012 and 2013 and these reports in Gulag Bound: A, which includes a report of Obama administration indoctrination of the traits of a suspected terrorist, plus B and C, and in one of numerous examples, in NetworkWorld, Eric Holder’s FBI brochure propagating their traits of a suspected terrorist: D).
  5. Prepare for massive firearm confiscations and the resultant resistance from the actually patriotic Americans, ready, willing, and able to obey the mandate of the Declaration of Independence and the purpose of the 2nd Amendment: to if necessary, “throw off” government which has become “despotism,” by means of free, “well regulated militias.”
  6. Provoke our freely armed patriots who heed the stern mandate of our Declaration and Constitution as referred in #4, to be engaged in free, well-regulated militias (and/or, whatever few kooks are really out there) into taking action which could become, in turn, actionable by national or nationalized, anti-American forces (see Waco, Ruby Ridge, etc.).
  7. Could this be, too? To do #5 as a actual pretext for further false-flag attacks, which would give Obamunist/NWO led forces pretext for martial law. (We have written about false-flag ploys, here.)
  8. Test for repercussions and blow-back in general, right down to this article (see #2).

And to confirm just how it looks, those military exercises are, in at least some cases, being made jointly with police forces. It would be silly to think that even the Obamunist DHS would try to send our police overseas. They (our government) do purport something about a reason for some of this. They say it is for disaster preparation, nuclear war, for example – even as they target as “suspected terrorists” those “preppers” who prepare for disasters. “Go figure.”

So now, We the People have to do just that: go to the information and figure out what it means, together.

And I will add a related, goose-bumping item that just bubbled up, as I have been preparing this article:

The world has become one monstrous economic bubble bath right now. At any moment the super-corrupt, global central banking system has any number of means of setting off a bubble-breaking chain reaction that would potentially throw the United States of America and much of the world into chaos. It is labeled “mutually assured economic destruction,” by the intelligentsia of the elite.

History in the 20th Century and at least as far back as the Illuminist-seminal French Revolution has shown us that Marxists/fascists (including the likes of front man, George Soros) need massive “disruption,” as Frances Fox Piven calls it, in order to foment their revolutions. Marxism is not called “conflict theory” in vain and the hungrier, more desperate, and more embittered their manipulated revolutionary “proletariat,” the better. And to borrow a phrase from Hillary Clinton, “what difference [would] it make,” whether the ensuing martial law is feigned to be on the side of the rioters, as it is in a classic Marxist revolution, or those seeking security from them, as it might be seen in a more fascistic revolution? Either way, the end result is the same: the iron-fisted grip of collectivist authoritarianism.

The reader may need to take a deep breath for more reasons than one. A long question is coming, next.

After reading Barack Hussein Obama Sr’s published criticism of the Kenyan president of his time, who was socialistic, for not being Marxist enough, I would not mince words. His father (if that is his father) was a Communist too. Thank you to Michael Savage for the graphic.

State control is the goal and as is demonstrated in China and Russia, the statist corporatism which was the heart of the 20th Century’s fascism is now the neo in neo-Marxism. Whether one calls it Marxofascism, or globalist crony capitalism, or the “New World Order” as communist collaborator, John Kerry did in his Secretary of State confirmation hearings, or as Barack Obama referred in his second inaugural, a bridge from the Declaration principle (of popular sovereignty and subservient government) into collectivism… there is only one direction to go, from freedom.

And now, what direction does Nanette’s list indicate?

Are we asking our members of Congress this question? – and our local sheriffs?

And any family and friends in our military and law enforcement services – are we asking them if they are Oath Keepers?

The same with veterans, are we asking them if they know about Veteran Defenders of America, for instance?

And are we informing our neighbors, individually, or organizationally?

And how about that Second Amendment and its first six words?

A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.

More about that, soon.

One last thought before the video – is this part of the reason for the out-of-the-blue announcement of women now being readied for combat situations? Are the Obamunists preparing to prop up America’s own young ladies to be among those facing or aggressing upon our very citizens? Just think of the ramifications, there. Consider the warped mentality of this regime.

The Council Has Spoken!! This Week’s Watcher’s Council Results – 02/01/13

The Council has spoken, the votes have been cast and the results are in for this week’s Watcher’s Council match-up.

Before we get started, let me remind you that there’s now a seat available on the Watcher’s Council up for grabs.

We’re currently looking at candidates, so if you’re interested, think you qualify or want to find out more about what’s involved in being part of the longest established blogging group of its kind, simply leave a comment with your site URL and your e-mail address (which won’t be published) on any article over at Joshuapundit.

These don’t come up all that often and when they do, they usually fill up quickly, so if you’re interested, don’t snooze!

Even taking into consideration the normal high level of quality in both the Council and Non-Council entries, this was a tough call with some exceptional pieces to choose from and the close vote tallies reflect it.

Some things never change and one of them is that there are a lot of Europeans who will never forgive the Jews for Auschwitz… especially with the convenient cover of ‘anti-Zionism’ to hide behind.

This week’s winner by a nose, Joshuapundit’s How The UK Sunday Times Observed Holocaust Memorial Day…: is my look at how the UK’s London Times chose to observe this year’s Holocaust Memorial Day – with a cartoon that would have been right at home in Hitler’s Der Stürmer. That something like this cartoon could appear in a mainstream UK paper on this particular day says volumes about the mindset of a great deal of British society and about the nature of modern anti-Semitism itself. Here’s a slice and a little history of that that a lot of Britons would probably prefer not to look at too closely:

Today, January 27th is Holocaust Memorial Day, when people throughout the world commemorate the six million Jews who died at the hands of Hitler and his many willing assistants in all nations.

The Times cartoon above, showing a gargoyle like, hook nosed Benyamin Netanyahu ‘cementing in a wall to peace’ with the blood of those Arabs who identify as Palestinians is pretty much standard fare nowadays in the kind of country the UK has become. Or more accurately, as Caroline Glick recently pointed out, the kind of country Britain has been for some time but now feels increasingly comfortable with revealing openly.

While there are undoubtedly a number of sporadic commerative ceremonies in Britain today, the overwhelming thrust of the country’s leadership and its policies are conveyed far more accurately by the cartoon above. And whether they want to admit it or not, that cartoon, and the fact that it was allowed to run today is not only overt anti-semitism, but craven cowardice. Can you imagine the Times ever running the Mohammed cartoons?

Just a day ago, Liberal MP David Ward compared Israel’s policies with those of the Nazis at Auschwitz:

“Having visited Auschwitz twice – once with my family and once with local schools – I am saddened that the Jews, who suffered unbelievable levels of persecution during the Holocaust, could within a few years of liberation from the death camps be inflicting atrocities on Palestinians in the new State of Israel and continue to do so on a daily basis in the West Bank and Gaza.”

While he was eventually forced to make a pro forma apology by party leaders, subsequent remarks by Ward signal that he hasn’t changed his views one iota.

The sophistry that people like David Ward and many other Britons indulge in is pretty wide spread these days…that there’s a difference between ‘Jews’ – especially Left wing Jews willing to play along with the anti-Zionist narrative – and ‘Israel’.

As the above cartoon reveals, what they really object to is Jews having the nerve to actually have the right of self-determination and to insist on defending themselves, something they wouldn’t dare criticize for any other group.

What they’re ultimately comfortable with, whether they admit it or not, is the idea of Jews as victims,perpetually dependent on their tolerance and goodwill. The cartoon underlines that hideous comfort in Jews as victims by using the motif of a wall to slam Israel’s security barrier, which has saved countless Israeli lives from Islamist terrorism. Holocaust Remembrance Day, if nothing else, should be a reminder of how quickly the winds can change when it comes to the Jews, and it is a strong and powerful Israel that makes sure that passively going along with those odious breezes is not an option anymore.

The ‘anti-Zionist’ is almost inevitably an anti-semite, and usually you don’t have to dig too deeply at all.

Since this cartoon appeared in Britain’s largest newspaper,and judging by the comments a lot of people found it appropriate, it’s worth taking a moment to review a little history. Because Britain’s own record on the Holocaust is frequently glossed over.

In our non-Council category, the winner was a wonderful piece by playwright, author and producer David Mamet with Gun Laws and the Fools of Chelm submitted by The Noisy Room and it really is a must-read. The Fools of Chelm, by way of illustration, is a well known piece of Jewish folklore popularized by Isaac Bashevis Singer, about a town where a group of people lived in perfect amity and content until they started listening to the elites, the so-called Council of Sages.
