China’s Communist Party Membership Tops 85 Million

For those naive souls who believe China is gradually abandoning communism.

The number of Communist Party of China (CPC) members has surpassed 85 million, according to latest figures from the Organization Department of the CPC Central Committee.

The CPC had 85.13 million members at the end of 2012, according to a department statement on Sunday, one day before the 92nd anniversary of its founding.

Last year, 3.23 million people joined the CPC, the world’s largest political Party — a net increase of 2.53 million taking into account members who died or left the Party.

More than 44 percent of new members are frontline workers, such as industrial employees, farmers, heders and migrant staff.

At its birth the Party had only about 50 members and this grew to nearly 4.5 million when the People’s Republic of China was founded in 1949.

7.16 million members work in Party and state agencies, and 20.20 million are managerial staff and professional technicians working in enterprises and nonprofit organizations. Students make up 2.91 million, the statement said.

More than a quarter of members are 35 years or younger and about 34.09 million have obtained degrees in higher education institutions, according to the statement.

In addition to the increasing membership, the number of the Party’s grassroots organizations also grew last year.

The CPC had 4.20 million grassroots Party organs across the country at the end of 2012, an increase of 4.3 percent from a year earlier.

These grassroots organs were set up in 7,245 urban subdisctricts, 33,000 towns, 87,000 urban communities and 588,000 villages.

Party organs were established in nearly all government organs, state-owned and private enterprises, and social organizations.

The statement said the structure of the CPC’s membership has been enhanced with younger and more higher-educated people joining. Also, the coverage of Party organs increased in 2012.

While China has adopted “capitalist” methods of production – as has Vietnam, the Party maintains total control.

China’s own theoreticians acknowledge that China’s early revolutionaries made a mistake in attempting to go from feudalism into socialism, without first going through capitalism – as Marx deemed necessary.

China’s current experiments with a semi-market economy are merely an attempt to build China’s wealth (and military might) before advancing on to world socialism, then communism.

China is ruled by Marxist-Leninists, who are just as committed to world revolution, as were their venerated fathers and grandfathers.

Will Russia Keep Snowden?

A Russian “Human Rights” body, closely connected to President Putin, is urging that American NSA traitor Edward Snowden be given refuge by Moscow.

Members of the Russian Presidential Council for Human rights said that it would be justified if the US whistleblower Edward Snowden received political asylum in a country of his choice, including Russia.

The head of Russia’s top official Human Rights Body, Mikhail Fedotov, told reporters on Wednesday that it would be just if some country grants Snowden political asylum. He added that the reports that the Venezuelan government was ready to look into such request were “raising good hope” and that it was his personal impression that the whistleblower “would get political asylum where he wants”.

“He must be granted protection regardless of national borders. And this does not apply only to Mr Snowden’s story – this applies to Wikileaks founder Julian Assange, and many other people, including journalists – Russian and foreign – who disclose secrets in order to warn the society against dangers,” the Interfax news agency quoted Fedotov as saying.

“Because of such people we become stronger and the special and diplomatic services must become smarter and understand what can be done in the modern transparent world and what cannot” Fedotov added.

Another member of the Human Rights Council, Kirill Kabanov, said Edward Snowden should not be handed over to the United States as this would violate his personal rights.

“It goes without saying that Snowden acted as a Human Rights advocate but right now the US authorities are very resolute in their intention to punish him. My opinion is that we should take a very precise position – no handover,” Kabanov told the ITAR-TASS news agency.

The initiative was supported by yet another member of the HR body, the head of the Moscow Bureau for Human Rights Aleksandr Brod. The activist said that the threat to Snowden’s life really existed and thus, Russian authorities must openly state their position.

“The man was defending the principles on which the United States had been based for a long time but which the current US authorities are ignoring. He is facing a life sentence or execution by a firing squad. We must help him in this very difficult situation,” stated Veronika Krasheninnikova, the head of the major Russian political think tank Institute of Foreign Policy Research and Initiatives.

These views are shared by the head of the Lower House committee for Foreign affairs Aleksey Pushkov who called Snowden, Assange and Bradley Manning “new dissidents” in his Wednesday Twitter post.

“Assange Manning and Snowden were not spies, they did not disclose classified information for money, but did so because of their beliefs. They are new dissidents, fighters against the system,” Pushkov wrote.

Regardless of where he ends up, America’s enemies are getting huge propaganda mileage out of Snowden’s treachery.

Forum: Should Senators Who Voted For The Amnesty Bill Be Primaried?

Every week on Monday morning, the Council and our invited guests weigh in at the Watcher’s Forum with short takes on a major issue of the day. This week’s question: Should Senators Who Voted For The Amnesty Bill Be Primaried?

Rhymes With Right: Yes, I do think that those senators who voted for amnesty should be primaried. But then again, I believe that EVERY officeholder should be primaried. There should be choices for the voter for every office. After all, the office belongs to We The People, not to their temporary occupants, and we always deserve a choice.

The Razor: Have we discussed going third party yet?

Because after Palin’s comments and the GOP’s behavior in the Senate regarding immigration I’m beginning to think we might have to do it. I’ve only been a card carrying member of the GOP since 2002 so it won’t be hard for me to go back to being indy – although I’d rather go to some other party that represents my beliefs (libertarian without being isolationist and anti-Semitic.)

The Independent Sentinel: I absolutely do believe Senators who voted for the immigration bill should be primaried.

These Senators advertised the bill as having the toughest border security in our history and perhaps in the world while ignoring the 40% of illegals who are here because they overstay visas. We have lost track of 15,000 from the mid-East alone who are here on student visas and who have disappeared.

There were countless misstatements by these Senators such as claiming the DHS Secretary cannot stop the building of the border fence when it states clearly in page 36 that she can.

They claimed there would be 20,000 border agents added but neglected to tell us that they have until 2021 to do it. They also failed to mention that they added NO agents to ICE.

I could go on for 800 pages with the flaws in this bill.

They are trying to conduct business as usual in a very dangerous world. They do not have our backs. We need to look for candidates who do.

JoshuaPundit: I’m not honestly certain the question isn’t moot. If you’re a Tea Party or conservative Republican or an independent who voted Republican and your elected officials are treating you with this kind of contempt, it sort of sends a signal, doesn’t it?

Senator Marco Rubio, for instance, is only in office because of the work and fundraising done for him by Sarah Palin, Jim DeMint and the Tea Party activists. He claims to be a fiscal conservative but openly lied, connived and finagled to get a pork laden bill through the senate that will cost the country billions and severely impact working Americans and legal immigrants. If Charlie Crist had been elected instead, would things have been that much different?

I think the Republican establishment is getting a very clear message from its base and is ignoring it thus far. If that continues, I think it answers this week’s question pretty succinctly. Sometimes, I really think you do have to destroy something in order to save it.

Another Christian Martyr went to Heaven last week when a bunch of Muslims in Syria beheaded a Catholic Priest, Franciscan Father Francois Murad. Father Murad died this most gruesome death because he refused to convert to Islam. Let no one be confused over this, this was a crime of religious origins, it is spelled out in the Qur’an, and the crowd that gathered to witness the murder were all chanting “Allahu Akbar” Allah is Great. I do not like the word ‘beheading’ because it is too benign. It is used to describe an execution by guillotine in France as well as a government execution by sword in Saudi Arabia, and both methods are quickly done. When Muslims murder Infidels (non-Muslims) as they did in the videos of Nick Berg and Daniel Pearl, they use a long kitchen knife and slowly slice through the victims neck. You can watch in the video linked below. Turn up your speakers to hear the sounds.

Meanwhile, back home in our quiet, peaceful, ignorant America, a scholarly Muslim cleric in Memphis, Tennessee gave a speech and told his audience that Jews and Christians were filthy and their lives and their property could be taken in Jihad. The reason we are ignorant is because we have never been told these things by our news media. But that is besides the point. It is interesting to note that it was also in Memphis, Tennessee a few weeks ago that an Assistant U.S. Attorney from the Justice Dept. held a public meeting along side another Muslim to explain why ‘Hate Speech” was wrong when used against Muslims. And to the pro-Muslim administration of Barack Hussein Obama’s Justice Dept. anything that speaks the truth about Islam, even quoting from the violent passages in the Qur’an or causes embarrassment to Muslims is considered hate speech.

Lastly, at least one newspaper in America has published a story about Muslims that is worthy of reading. The New York Post explains a few details about the U.S. military prison in Guantanamo, Cuba that hasn’t been revealed so far. You’ve heard of ‘Gitmo’ haven’t you? Its also called Guantanamo Bay and it is a U.S. military prison on the East coast of Cuba where we hold radical Muslim terrorists, prisoners captured in Iraq and Afghanistan. I’ll bet your local news media has never told you this about Gitmo. Best quote from the story: “Detainees even persuaded prison officials to stop raising the American flag anywhere they could see it.”

VATICAN CITY (Catholic Online) – The Vatican is confirming the death by beheading of Franciscan Father, Francois Murad, who was martyred by Syrian jihadists on June 23. Below is the news release from the Vatican, via news.va.

On Sunday, June 23 the Syrian priest François Murad was killed in Gassanieh, in northern Syria, in the convent of the Custody of the Holy Land where he had taken refuge. This is confirmed by a statement of the Custos of the Holy Land sent to Fides Agency. The circumstances of the death are not fully understood. According to local sources, the monastery where Fr. Murad was staying was attacked by militants linked to the jihadi group Jabhat al-Nusra.

Father François, 49, had taken the first steps in the religious life with the Franciscan Friars of the Custody of the Holy Land, and with them he continued to share close bonds of spiritual friendship. After being ordained a priest he had started the construction of a coenobitic monastery dedicated to St. Simon Stylites in the village of Gassanieh.After the start of the Civil War, the monastery of St. Simon had been bombed and Fr. Murad had moved to the convent of the Custody for safety reasons and to give support to the remaining few, along with another religious and nuns of the Rosary.

“Let us pray,” writes the Custos of the Holy Land Pierbattista Pizzaballa OFM ” so that this absurd and shameful war ends soon and that the people of Syria can go back to living a normal life.” Archbishop Jacques Behnan Hindo, titular of the Syrian Catholic archeparchy in Hassaké-Nisibis reports to Fides: “The whole story of Christians in the Middle East is marked and made fruitful by the blood of the martyrs of many persecutions. Lately, father Murad sent me some messages that clearly showed how conscious he was of living in a dangerous situation, and offered his life for peace in Syria and around the world. ”

This should make it clear to Christians around the world what jihadists are about. Make no mistake. Catholics and Christians around the globe are under dire threat, particularly from the spread of militant Islam. Until the threat is recognized and taken seriously, martyrdoms like this will continue.

…We must warn you, the video is extremely graphic. We believe the first victim is Father Francois, and the second victim that is depicted is another person said to be a collaborator with the Assad regime.

Catholic Online believes it is very important the world knows that Christians are being murdered for their faith, and that martyrdom isn’t an ancient phenomenon.

Tennessee imam: Jews and Christians filthy, their lives and property can be taken in jihad by the Muslims

Note also his words about jihad, quoting Muhammad: “I have been commanded to fight the people until they testify la illaha illa Allah [there is no god but Allah].”

And Qadhi says: “The life and property of a mushrik [one who worships others besides Allah] holds no value in the state of jihad….which means if they don’t say la illaha illa Allah, their lives and property are halal” — that is, permitted to be taken by the Muslims.

Qadhi is an imam in Memphis. He is also Dean of Academic Affairs at the Al-Maghrib Institute. He is a hafiz — that is, he has memorized the entire Qur’an. He has an M.A. in the Islamic Creed and a B.A. in Islamic Sciences from Islamic University of Medina, as well as a master’s and a doctorate in Islamic Studies from Yale.

How is it, then, that he misunderstands jihad so spectacularly that he sounds like a greasy Islamophobe?

When is Bill Killian going to arrest Qadhi for hate speech? And when is Qadhi’s speaking tour of England?

‘Waist’ of money at Guantanamo Bay as detainees get prison’s ‘infidel’ gym replaced

Americans are supposed to have sympathy for the accused terrorist detainees now on hunger strike to protest supposedly cruel conditions at the US military prison in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba.

“I don’t want these individuals to die,” President Obama recently lamented, adding he intends to close Gitmo and transfer the detainees to US prisons.

But just a few years ago, detainees got so plump from overeating hummus and other dishes from the camp’s Islamically correct menu that commanders specially ordered treadmills to help them lose weight.

Then they ordered them again — because they weren’t made by Muslims.

“Even the hunger strikers were gaining weight because of all the food, so we go out and buy all this exercise equipment and throw it in the rec yard,” a Gitmo official said of a 2007 requisition. “Within the first week, there were guys saying, ‘Hey, this stuff is made in the US — made by infidels — and we’re not going to use it.’

“So what did we do?” added the official, who requested anonymity. “We took all of that s–t out, gave it to the soldiers to use, and bought them equipment that was made in a Muslim part of the world.”

The Pentagon declined to comment.

The official called Gitmo detainees “some of the most pampered prisoners on the planet.”

He said they get as many as four choices of halal meals and have access to a new $750,000 soccer field. Islamic prayer beads and rugs are now “standard issue.” They get their choice of more than 10,000 Islamic books and videos stocked by a Muslim librarian, who also records soccer and Arabic TV for them. They even have their own clerics to preach to them in Arabic.

Everyone gets a Koran, paperback or hardback, along with little hammocks to keep their holy book from touching the ground when not in use.

Guards are prohibited from handling the books. The Muslim librarian is “the only one that’s allowed to touch the Korans anymore, per detainee request,” the official said. “If I went into the Koran room and started rifling through a Koran, I could be fired.”

But no one gets a Bible, because the Bible could “incite” the terrorists.

Detainees even persuaded prison officials to stop raising the American flag anywhere they could see it.

Gitmo is no longer a prison camp; it’s a state-sponsored madrassa. But that’s not good enough for these inmates. They’re now demanding newer facilities and easier access to lawyers. More are threatening hunger strikes and unrest if they don’t get their way.

So the Pentagon is considering plans for a $150million overhaul to what is already the world’s most costly prison per capita. Each inmate at Gitmo costs roughly $800,000 a year to detain, for a total annual operating budget of more than $170 million.

The military already has approved construction projects, including a new $11 million hospital and medical units for detainees, along with a $10 million “legal meeting complex,” where lawyers and human-rights groups can huddle with detainees.

Mostly, this is politics.

“I know some in the military leadership who are trying to make things more comfortable [for the detainees], but it’s not really about making the detainees more comfortable,” said the official. “It’s about placating the Beltway and making the p.r. war shift in our direction a little bit.”

“A lot of these programs stem from that,” he added.
