The SPLC are masters of the smear tactic. Mark Potok, the SPLC’s $146,000-donor-dollar-a-year public relations guru, claims he has discovered “1,002 hate groups” but he can’t seem to locate 262 of them on his own “Hate Map” fund-raising tool. That’s 26% off the top.

23% of Montana and Idaho’s “hate groups” are homeless, 50% for South Dakota, 80% for Wyoming and an unbelievable 100% of North Dakota’s “hate groups” are phantoms.
When asked about this huge discrepancy last month, Potok admitted, on video no less, that the numbers on his much-vaunted “Hate Map” are pretty much made up and that he has no real idea where these “groups” are or how many people are allegedly in them.
In fact, Potok padded his “Hate Map” with 62 new “hate groups” last year, but the actual number of homeless “hate groups” jumped by more than 100 for the same year! He can’t even keep his simplest lies straight.

Fortunately, for Potok, it doesn’t really matter. The media lap up whatever numbers he throws out there and dutifully regurgitate them without ever vetting one single claim.
