Stop the Presses – Music to my Ears

By: T F Stern
T F Stern’s Rantings

The hills are alive with the sound of music, or rather silence. Printing presses which have been diluting our money supply with an additional billion dollars in hundred dollar bills had to be shut down and at least a third of the hundred dollar bills printed will have to be destroyed because they printed improperly. That means our government’s agenda to destroy the value of our own money has had a monkey wrench thrown in the gears of progressivism. This article appeared on Fox News’ website on December 6th and credit was given to Reuters as having contributed to the story.

“1.1 billion high-tech hundred-dollar bills have been printed by the U.S. Treasury and Federal Reserve — and may never see circulation.”

The silence made by printing presses sitting idle is music to my ears. The glitch in production means it will take a bit longer for the Fed to devalue what little money I have left after having redistributed a good percentage of it for programs only a progressive could love.

“When the release of the bills was announced, Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke stressed that both the current bills and the new ones will both be legal tender.”

What you won’t hear Bernanke say, at least not while any microphone is handy, “These new hundred dollar bills will look great when used as wallpaper in your bathroom or favorite empty closet. They will give contrast to old German Reichsmark or Zimbabwe’s worthless currency.”

We can only hope the printing presses remain silent for an extended period, that our lame duck Congress adjourns early for Christmas and Santa finds the note I sent detailing how I’ve tried very hard to behave most of the time. What’s that song by Meatloaf, Two Out of Three Ain’t Bad? I’ll take two out of three in a heartbeat. Right now I’m just enjoying the silence.

Barack Obama Leaves Bill Clinton In Charge

Hat Tip: Nancy Jacques

Here’s what someone commented:

Former President Bill Clinton gave a statement after his meeting with President Obama about his tax compromise with the Republicans.

However, after his statement, Clinton began to call on and take questions from the press with Obama at his side. Obama promptly after a few moments and said he had to see Michelle, as he was keeping her “waiting.”

“I don’t want to make her mad, please go,” Clinton told Obama.

Obama then attended the WH Christmas party.

HUH?? How bizarre is that? Little Boy Obama looked and acted a little peeved that former President Clinton was hogging all the spotlight leaving him to stand on the sidelines looking like the inept incompetent he is. So he took his bruised ego and marched off to the Christmas Party…which is probably where he’s better suited to rein supreme. Or at least appear to.

From The Radio Pundit on Bernie Sanders’ Filibuster:

In the first segment of Fox news’ Special Report, Carl Cameron reported that Bernie Sanders’ filibuster, which was being broadcast live on C-Span, was picked up by a radio host who fed it live over the internet, which then went viral.

Elizabeth Letchworth who served as the secretary to the US Senate for 26 years and knows the parliamentary rules and regs, and all the procedures that govern the Senate, is raising serious objections to this.

A leading progressive radio talk show host from XM/Sirius satellite radio today broadcast his radio show with a live feed from C-Span II. This was done in order for the radio show to display the Senate floor and the filibuster being conducted by Sen. Sanders (D-VT). He is talking on an extended basis on the Senate floor about the “global tax agreement” and explaining his opposition. The Senator notified the Senate Democratic Leadership before beginning his remarks at around 10:30AM that he would be concluding his remarks around 6pm on Friday.

The talk show host re-airs his radio show via Internet stream and again on Internet TV. Here is the link to hear for yourself:

During his radio talk show, the host said he had an arrangement with Senator Sanders whereby listeners to the show should email questions for the Senator via the talk radio website. He will then get the questions to the Senator’s COS whereby the questions will be put in front of the Senator during his speech on the Senate floor. The Senator has agreed to address the questions and answer them on the Senate floor. This arrangement was announced several times during the talk radio show and again can be heard/seen at the link above.

This seems a clear abuse of the rights and duties of a U.S. Senator. I remember the cost to run the Senate floor, from lights, to electricity, security, etc…was around $90K per day. (Back in the early 2000’s)

This seems to be such an abuse of power on the part of the Senate democrats who control the schedule of the Senate floor.

Thought you might want to know that the greatest deliberative body, the U.S. Senate, along with our tax dollars, are being used to raise ratings for a liberal talk radio show.

Greens are basically “reds” in disguise.

Derek Wall is a British economics lecturer and writer. He was U.K. Green Party Principal Speaker from 2006 to 2007 and made a bid for the party’s deputy leadership earlier this year.

Derek works with greens globally including Cuban activist Roberto Perez, former New Zealand Green MP Nandor Tanczos and indigenous leader Hugo Blanco.

Derek is a founder of the Ecosocialist International and Green Left.

Derek believes we must have social justice and ecology and that climate change threatens us all.

Derek also claims that in 1995, his campaigning helped prevent the execution of US death row prisoner and convicted cop killer Mumia Abu-Jamal.

Here’s dear wee Derek speaking at the Coalition of Resistance Conference, November 27, 2010.

Socialism for Dummies

By: Trevor Loudon
New Zeal

An economics professor at a local college made a statement that he had never failed a single student before, but had once failed an entire class.

That class had insisted that Obama’s socialism worked and that no one would be poor and no one would be rich, a great equalizer.

The professor then said, “OK, we will have an experiment in this class on Obama’s plan.”

All grades would be averaged and everyone would receive the same grade so no one would fail and no one would receive an A.

After the first test, the grades were averaged and everyone got a B.

The students who studied hard were upset and the students who studied little were happy.

As the second test rolled around, the students who studied little had studied even less and the ones who studied hard decided they wanted a free ride too so they studied little.

The second test average was a D!

No one was happy.

When the 3rd test rolled around, the average was an F.

The scores never increased as bickering, blame and name-calling all resulted in hard feelings and no one would study for the benefit of anyone else.

All failed, to their great surprise, and the professor told them that socialism would also ultimately fail because when the reward is great, the effort to succeed is great but when government takes all the reward away, no one will try or want to succeed.

It could not be any simpler than that.

Venezuelan Missile Crisis – How Will Obama React?

By: Trevor Loudon
New Zeal

When the Soviets put missiles into Cuba, President Kennedy forced them to back off.

Now the Iranians are putting missiles into Venezuela….

From the Hudson New York:

Iran is planning to place medium-range missiles on Venezuelan soil, based on western information sources, according to an article in the German daily, Die Welt, of November 25, 2010. According to the article, an agreement between the two countries was signed during the last visit of Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez to Tehran on October 19, 2010. The previously undisclosed contract provides for the establishment of a jointly operated military base in Venezuela, and the joint development of ground-to-ground missiles.

At a moment when NATO members found an agreement, in the recent Lisbon summit (19-20 November 2010), to develop a Missile Defense capability to protect NATO’s populations and territories in Europe against ballistic missile attacks from the East (namely, Iran), Iran’s counter-move consists in establishing a strategic base on the South American continent – in the United States’ soft underbelly.

According to Die Welt, Venezuela has agreed to allow Iran to establish a military base manned by Iranian missile officers, soldiers of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard and Venezuelan missile officers. In addition, Iran has given permission for the missiles to be used in case of an “emergency.” In return, the agreement states that Venezuela can use these facilities for “national needs” – radically increasing the threat to neighbors like Colombia. The German daily claims that according to the agreement, Iranian Shahab 3 (range 1300-1500 km), Scud-B (285-330 km) and Scud-C (300, 500 and 700 km) will be deployed in the proposed base. It says that Iran also pledged to help Venezuela in rocket technology expertise, including intensive training of officers.

What will President Obama do about this new threat to U.S. security?

1. Stare down the Iranians?
2. Stop buying Venezuelan oil and open up all known U.S. reserves to exploitation?
3. Pressure the Senate to pass the New START Disarmament Treaty with Iran and Venezuela’s Russian allies?
4. Play basketball?
5. Play golf?

What do you think?
